Great win, this team never quit. This program needed a win like this. That being said, we beat the number 22 team in the country by 3, who many in the industry believe is the worst Oregon Team in a decade. Everyone is acting like we just beat a top 5 team. This shows how far Neb has fallen. Beating a #22 team is a statement win. Will take this win and the team deserves it, but if anyone thinks this team is a top 15 team or that we can win the BIG10 title are dreaming. Step in the right direction and will enjoy it.

Better than Iowa losing to NDSU or Wisconsin struggling against a nobody.. Also OU could be 1-2 in a few hours..

Everybody-this is the person who wrote this on Sunday.

We all keep hanging onto hope this once great program will turn that corner and return to greatness. Same song and dance year after year. High hopes, then reality sets in by game 5 or 6, just another average team. We need to start realizing that after almost 2 decades of crappy team after crappy team,we are just an average team and more than likely always will be. A 9 win season is now the best we will get. Eventually all of us that have lived through the great years, will be replaced by those that have never seen it. Nebraska football will be an after thought, a blip on the college football radar. A team that once was but will never be again. Yes it sounds gloom and doom, but it is becoming reality weather we all want to accept it or not. Just take a step back, we are living in a time where everyone is excited about playing the #22 in the country. Hoping we can get a win, if we can many will consider that a "huge" win. Really? That should show how bad it has gotten
So it should surprise nobody that he's reacting this way. If he was honest, he really is upset we won.

We are not a Top 10 team. Even the team knows that. What we are is a team that doesn't give up. We are 3-0 and hopefully respected enough to be ranked in the Top 25. It's just the next step until Riley gets his players. I will celebrate this win tonight!

I remember back in '91 or '92 when NU beat #21 ASU by a few scores it was a big win. Lets hope the same type of success follows this big win.

As much as I love Rivals....and pay the $ to be a member..... It infuriates me that idiots from other boards feel so righteousness to troll here .... A true fan of there team would be silent of their foes..... Even for enlightenment!!!! ( got that Seiowahawk!!!!!!)

Here's who everyone has been waiting for to pile on. Yes, this team has inconsistencies. But don't downplay this. This inst the '95 team. We've seen some hard times in the last 10-15 years. Yes, this Oregon team is not the national championship teams of the past few years. But a few things happened here. 1) This team won a close game. Could have used 1-2 of those last year. 2) That stadium sounded pumped on tv. Had to be a great environment for recruits. 3) I can't stand Tommy's mechanics or his decision making; but this kid is a grinder. Go take an IV on the sideline and come back in for the game winning TD run. I'm proud to be a Husker fan and am finally excited to see what this team can do going forward. That's all that needs to be said. Raise a glass...GO BIG RED!

We came back twice against a quality team. Was this super high quality football? No, but it was a hard fought, entertaining game. Tommy had nearly 300 yards of offense and Zig was almost a 100 rusher again.
I will more than take the win and the momentum it will hopefully bring.

WHATS THE MATTER WITH YOUR LIFE? DON'T YOU KNOW HOW TO BE HAPPY?
I do, my family makes me happy, my friends make me happy, football is football. Watching a horrible Neb football for the last 15 yrs and ruined me in regards to that aspect of my life. lol Until they prove time and time again they can win, I will always be a realist about them. I will celebrate the win and always will, but looking for proof they have staying power.
Too bad you can't enjoy the win.
I enjoyed it, ask my neighbor, he said he could her me yelling from across the street. I enjoyed this win very much. As I said this program needed it greatly. Im also a realist, this team has proven over the last 15 yrs they can win a decent game now and then, only to turn around and lose to a nobody the very next week. Im waiting for that proof they have staying power, thats all.

I understand how you feel, you're probably alot younger than me. You probably don't remember or weren't there for the greatness. If you were, it's impossible to give up. this is the happiest I've felt in years.

If you were there for the great years then you should remember Nebraska had plenty of years where we beat a lot of bad teams and lost to any with a pulse. That's as recent as 1990 for the Osborne years. For 20 of Osborne's 25 years this would have been a GREAT win. That Oregon team has more talent top to bottom than Nebraska, and certainly more top level speed.

So at some point lighten the &#@$ up. This may hopefully be a good stepping stone. But if it makes you feEl better, I'm guessing you'll have a lot to ***** about during/after the OSU game.

You either need medication or are a troll.

Since the low, low point against Purdue last season, Nebraska is 6-1 with wins over Michigan State, UCLA, and Oregon. This team may not be world beaters, but I like the way things are trending. It seems like ages since we've had even a little momentum and confidence on our side.

There seems to be a lot of revisionist history about the TO years. For every one of TO's years, beating the #22 team in the country was a routine expectation, not a great win. Beating Okie State, Mizzou, and CU when they had good but not great teams was expected. Mix in just enough wins over Alabama, Penn State, UCLA, and Florida State when they were in the Top 5 or at least Top 10, and you have the reason why NU was considered an elite program, not a woo-hoo, we beat #22 program.

And after all this time hiring a crap coach does not instill any confidence in getting the team we all love back to were we all want to them to be. Hey I support them and I was very glad NU won today, I am always happy when that happens, however my opinion is we are wasting time, treading water with Riley...win some...lose some...he is not a championship caliber coach nor is he Nebraska material or well suited for Nebraska....and he already proved that last year...

Tom Osborne before 1994 was just above 50% winning percentage against ranked teams. Routine for the first 20 years? It was a coin flip.

Wow TA4 got a helmet sticker on ESPN gameday final. Apparently those guys don't know that this was a ho hum, expected victory, and not a great one. A few of you experts in this thread need to get a hold of ESPN and set them straight.
