CJF should treat the next 6 games like the first 6 scrimmages and play all backups, because the Prima Donna's on this team and have pretty much checked out.
Then no players are going to come here because if the season goes bad any upperclassmen will sit
I mean, I get your logic but doesn't work. Literally there isn't a single kid that would come here.

That’s not Franklin’s history.

Your desire might come true however.

I suspect it will take 8 business days for PSU to finally move on from Coach Fraudklin.

Let me cliche .... "At the end of the day", Allar's injury is completely on Franklin. He had so many designed running QB plays that it wasn't a matter of if, but when Allar was getting injured.
You really are a dope. Allar panicked again when his first read wasn't there and rather than standing in the pocket and delivering a throw when a guy had a step, he took off for the umpteenth time. That QB on the other side had no problem standing in the pocket and delivering a dart over the middle on a key 3rd down to keep a drive alive.

I would want to take a look at both Grunkemeyer and Smolik, though. Need to see if one of them is the answer going forward or if the portal has to come in to play.

Northwestern wasn't facing a pressure defense. Darts weren't needed.

With Allar injured, yes, you can do that
And I follow your logic. Its sound. It just doesn't work because the players control.wceeyrhing.
We need a portal QB to at least compete with them next year regardless IMO

I think that will end up being the case (portal QB). I said in another post, HS recruiting has taken a back seat to the transfer route. I don't love it, but either get on board or get run over.

The only quickly diagnosed ankle area injury would be an achilles tear. That would certainly be a season ender.

It sucks for Allar, but we could all see he wasn’t it. Why is it our 5 star qb’s all underperform and 3 star coal country gunslingers play well for us?

Teams are going to stack the line and make whomever are our backups beat them. We are going to be open for a top recruit or transfer to get playing time right away next season.

It’s best for him to have a season ending injury?

Yes. Hear me out, he's playing like dogsh*t behind an O-line that won't protect him, in a scheme that won't cater to his strengths, he's gone from surefire 1st round draft pick to a national punchline. You think things were trending to get better for Drew this year? How many more 3rd and 10 QB draws was he gonna have to run this year? As the program fully collapses this year, he won't be tied to it....hopefully draft evaluators sort of look at him with fresh eyes after the season and realize it wasnt his fault. As a program, we start getting some young guys some experience and figuring out what we have for next year. Defenses had Drew's number in this system.

100%. While he has deficiencies, he was not coached up nor did he play in a system that utilized his talents.

With the ankle injury, Allar could be a 6th round pick or even an UDFA. He may not be able to perform at the combine depending upon how bad the injury is and the recovery time. What team is going to draft him high knowing what his performance has been this season and that he may not be 100% healthy.

Would he be eligible for a medical red shirt?

Wide open check down (his specialty) to NS that would have easily got the 1st down.

Nothing personal, but the kid just does not have it. Feel terrible for him to go out that way. Does anyone know the injury yet? That was a really sad thing to witness.

He will likely need a new profession - so probably best for him to get started soon.

Sucks. But it is reality.

He’s not getting taken high, but he’ll get his shot to hold a clipboard for a few years in the NFL. There are more than enough coaches/scouts in that league with big enough egos who appreciate the raw talent he possesses and believe they can fix what’s broken in him.

I just watched the closeup replay of the injury. Cheap shot by NW Linebacker. He went for his lower leg. Not sure how Drew was able to walk off the field.

Allar’s leg will heel. Then I‘m sure he will work with some QB whisperer in Florida, Arizona, etc. (i.e., somewhere warm, away from PSU). Maybe Allar will be able to clear his head and elevate his game as a result.

His leg will heel and he will be a 23 year old with $3 million in the bank… screw football!

I would politely disagree. His numbers up until this year show he was definitely coached up. That said, his game is nothing like it was in high school. That, I believe, is on the staff. His high school numbers were all world. Over 4,400 yards in passing his senior year, and 48 TDS vs 7 ints.

I also believe he had far too many QB coaches working with him. He was never allowed to play free at Penn State, and that is something I'll never understand.

I believe Drew will have a long career in the NFL once he gets into a pro system. Penn State did him no favors.

I'd say your second part is why I dont think he was coached up, he had too many voices via QB coach/OC and JF. Especially when Franklin is telling him his whole career to not turn the ball over and throw the deep ball short so we can at least get DPI.

I believe the real question is, why and how did James go away from his offensive philosophy from Vandy to Penn State? I believe he had 2 really good offensive coordinators, JoMo and Ricky Rahne. His teams outside of those two coordinators look nothing like what he brought from Vandy. I simply do not get it.
