Murphy should win, but Alleghany is a big physical grind on you team, I know Murphy is good but wouldn't be surprised if this one is closer than we all think
Murphy coaching staff were complimentary of Alleghany. With Murphy's inactivity for 3 weeks it could be closer in the early going than some think.

It will be hard to challenge Murphy's defense without a balanced offense.

Murphy is used to this time of year. Well coached and im sure deeper than Alleghany. Also, Murphy will be more battle tested. Ashe was really the only consistent team in the MVAC this year.

Lets get real Allegheny has zero chance to beat murphy, the only team that can beat murphy this year is Tarboro. Oh I forgot murphy won't play them. Oh I'm sorry Mt Airy can beat murphy also, but murphy won't play them either

I wouldn't count out Mitchell. They have played better competition so that's why they have 2 losses. If they had Murphy schedule they would easily be undefeated.
Alleghany has been on a roll the last few weeks of the season. It will be a battle in the first half but the 2nd half will determine who moves on. Murphy by 3 scores.
Hoping the Dogs are well rested and ready to play. Hoping all SMC schools win this week.

I think they could beat Pisgah, Murphy would've beat Pisgah with a healthy team.

Bud said it all season. Pisgah was a joke. Look at some of the teams they struggled with. The Citizen Times rank them high right out of the gate and they never change that because they're too stupid to do research. I'm telling you right now Mitchell would beat them by two touchdowns at least. If Mitchell played Murphy schedule they would be undefeated. If Murphy played Mitchell schedule they would have the same record as Mitchell because they're not beating the teams they lost too
If Murphy were healthy and played Heritage at home like Mitchell did, they could win that game. Would they? I don't know. But to say they couldnt is assinine.
It's definitely possible but Heritage is darn good team. I was more referring to the guy that said Mitchell couldn't be Pisgah. In my opinion they would.
If they played now I agree, Pisgah never improved offensively during the year.
Not that it really matters because first Mitchell has to get by Cherokee Friday night first. And if they do I personally believe talent wise Mitchell & Murphy are similar. But saying Mitchell without a doubt would not have beaten Pisgah is a odd statement. The only way I know to do some match up comparison during the regular season in looking at the same teams they both played. Polk: M won 62-13 P 54-6..RS- Central: M 45-0 P 35-13.. Franklin: M 41-20 P 21-14.. So they look on paper pretty equally matched. And I don't know what happened to Pisgah Friday sometimes the better team comes in overconfident makes unforced errors and the other team plays above their heads and gets beat.
