Perhaps stoops should implement on defense what he was lamenting about our offense. Give up a quick score so they can get back off the field and not wear down. The other team is going to score anyway might as well try to wear their defense down to give us a shot.

3 ints and shoulda been 4. GREAT. One handed int.

Good pressure on their defense the 1st half

Special teams did a pretty good job

35 first half points

I can't defend the 2nd half. It was like the teams switched sides at halftime. But to say there has been no improvement, is wrong.

Only gave up a blocked punt, botched a field goal, and a semi-long kick return. And also got no hang time on our punts.

special teams looked a lot better. Yes two mess ups, but punt still went nearly thirty yards. A true freshman pubter just took a tad bit to long to kick it. Sure was some nerves there. And fg holder just dropped ball. Again player playing in first game. Punt team did not give up a single return yard and kick off team didn't allow a drive to start outside 25. Kick return had some nice returns that set up ok field position. Nice inside suprise recovery also.

For week one, it wasn't too bad of special teams play.

I see the optimism. But I still wouldn't say they had a good game. They cost us 10 points.

I said they had a pretty good game over all. And they did. Most kickoffs, we had them short of the 25. Not perfect but improved. And that's what the op asked about.

When special teams cost you 10 pts they didn't have a pretty good game.

They had facets of the game they did well. I understand though. It's been so bad previously that it seemed that they had a pretty good game.

Lost by 9. Those 10 pts were pretty big in hindsight. Wasn't the main reason we lost but still a factor.

Well again, the op was about showing improvement. They did.

Everything looked really good except run defense; more specifically the dl and coaching adjustment.

2 busted coverages, but other than that pass defense was great. O looked great until limited to 14 snaps in second half. Special teams looked good except the tipped punt; coverage and returns were great.

We're so close. Just need to figure out stopping the run.

I can see why youre optimistic. And can agree that minus a few errors they looked ok.

I do hope the punter learns to add some distancd/hangtime to his arsenal. Can definitely see that hurting us if we manage a competitive game.

Please there are a lot of them:
1. Renovated stadium
2. Top shelf facilities
3. Uniforms, lots of cool combinations to look cool even when you get your @$$ kicked
4. Helmets, got to look good even if you get your @$$ kicked
5. Killer Spin Ping-Pong Table, Shuffle board table to
6. UK Logo Leather Captains Chairs to sit and watch your @$$ getting handed to you on film.
I'll quit here. I think you get the idea.

I'm all for the improvements but some playas want to look good (be cool) even if they lose. Just sayin

There is not going to be a lot of improvement in the run defense. That is whats hard to take in his 4th year. Meant and Hatcher woud not have that great of an impact.
