Season 2 about to kick off.

Here's the list of itmes each contestant gets to pick from to help them survive alone in the wilderness. There's also a list of camera and safety equipment automatically provided.
http://www.history.com/shows/alone/articles/full-gear-list-and-prohibited-items

Will be interesting to see how the 3 women cast this year hold up. Hopefully there won't be as much whining and crying. And, of course, hopefully someone gets eaten by a cougar or mauled by a bear.

Trying to talk the wife into letting me do it next year. I think she wants me dead, so I'm pretty optimistic about getting her blessing.

I like the show and got hooked last year. Most of this years 10 seem like they will drop out quickly. I'm rooting for Nicole cause she's kinda hot and has a nice tit job.

Alan Kay was the best.

My money is on Mike or Jose. Though it wouldn't suprise me to see one of the women do well either. Like last year, I'm guessing most will be gone after the first few days to a week.

I just watched the intro show & now watching episode 1. I agree that most of these people will drop out early. I think the sniper and the granola guy make it pretty far.

First dude didn't even last until nightfall. He freaked himself out just by seeing bear poop and hearing them in the distance. Then he sits down not knowing what to do and complaining about being alone.

I want to know about the screening process. How do these folks get on the show and then not even make it more than 8 hours?

The pre-show said that there were more than 3500 applicants. Those were narrowed down to 20 that went to a skills test for a week. When they showed that guy, he was always with several family members. He evidently didn't understand what it means to be alone.

A lot of it is where you get dropped. Last year there was a guy or two the tapped out on the first day, and it was because they were dropped right in a bear's back yard, similar to the guy that tapped last night.

I mean, I think I'd just hit the trail a little and get out of the danger zone rather than ***** out on the first day.

My money is on the dude from Spain. Seems like more people had dropped out by this point last season. Still 9 left and on like day 6, I'd say next to go will be the guy who lost his ferro rod.

Yeah, if he can't get reliable fire, he's done. I'd say the chick that almost cut her thumb off will be heading out soon as well. Looked pretty deep.

Still feeling pretty good about my Mike and Jose predictions.

The girl with the cut thumb kept saying she couldn't move her thumb. I bet she cut through a tendon. She's done!

^ Nope. He threw it in the bay. Probably a good choice. No sense taking a chance on something when you aren't starving yet.

The one's that have the most success fishing will have the best chance at thriving long term, especially since they can't eat any shellfish due to the recent red tide. Last season there didn't seem to be much evidence of small game, so if they're planning on relying on trapping for food, they'll probably come up short.

Weak group. Nobody is going to last as long as Alan did. And I was thinking since this group already watched the first one they would be stronger and last twice the time as the first group, but I bet in one day they lose like 3 people pretty soon.

Mike was my pick from the interviews, but he has a bad attitude. The guy that dropped his fire starter into the fire is done. Too wet to depend on friction fire starting.

The lady that gave the awesome crotch shot in her tent is my favorite. Serious question, is that fat cop "woman" actually a man in the wrong bathroom or what?

And I think Jose has the right frame of mind and skill set to win if he can maintain a reliable food source.

I loved when Mike cussed that stick out

You mean Larry? He's a lunatic and I hope he gets ridden to the ground by a cougar.

I think unless Jose gets sick or injured, he's your winner. Big girl is my dark horse. Nerves of steel.

Yes I meant Larry. I think Jose is the winner as well, I called that from episode 1 (Called Alan last year). I think a few of them have the physical skills and knowledge to stay there a long time, but after so long it's more mental than anything. I agree on the big girl as dark horse.

Jose has got this unless a predator takes him out. If that Big Girl doesn't turn out to be a dude that got a sex change I will be fairly stunned. That has to be a man. Has to.

The big dude girl is pretty tough. Not really phased by anything. You never know when/if one is going to get hurt and have to leave. Great show.

Impressively unflappable.

"Yeah, a bear was smelling my tent a minute ago right by my head. I napped a few more minutes then hollered at it."

A half-dozen last season quit over encounters less than what she's had so far and it just doesn't phase her.

Oh, the lady (Nichole?) that knows plants really well is having no problems with food and that is a huge plus. If the bears don't get to her and she stays mentally strong she is a dark horse. That said, Jose looks like a lock to win this thing.

Well, big girl just tapped. I guess having a bear sniff your head was more than she could handle. *****.

That was the weirdest tap ever.

This group is far less physical but maybe more intelligent than the first one. Jose and that guy that keeps yapping about his wife are doing very well. Plus the lady that knows all about plants just caught a huge fish. If the bears don't get her she might go far.

Huge storm coming in. I bet it takes out a few.

Jose, plant lady, and the sniper are in my top 3. I think the preacher will tap soon.

Mike is awesome. Wouldnt be surprised if he shows us a hot tub he built next week. I still have Jose as my winner followed by Mike. I think Barbara will be the only reason Mike leaves. I think we see at least 2 leave next week.

Is the Black guy still in it? He seemed to think black lives didn't matter every time he heard a weird sound.

I figured he would get between a female Black Bear and her cubs and be mauled like Leonardo.

He was literally gone before dark on the first day.

Gone the first few hours. How he got through the auditions is incredible. No fire. No shelter. It was like he ate his 5 pounds of food then tapped out probably before the boat got back.

Then Tracy tapping like that was just crazy. It's like both of those two turned out to be mental cases. I think the black guy was just overwhelmed by being alone like that. He just instantly said screw this.

I just don't think most can mentally prepare themselves for the real possibility of being attacked by an animal that can kill and eat you. A horn and a flare would only go so far as to making me feel protected.

A couple of the guys haven't seemed to have any encounters yet. Sorta luck of the draw.

An ax is all you need against a black bear. They're cowardly by nature, not ferocious like a grizzly is. There would already be two fatalities if those were grizzlies instead of blacks. Nichole and Tracy would be dead as they stumbled directly upon mothers with cubs. Instant charge and maul.

Jose, Mike, Nichole, then Larry. Whoever eats best from that group wins. Justin seems a little flaky/careless and Randy lost his fire starter. David is already talking about food and home and I think he's probably the next to tap.

Well, my boy Mike is basically building kitchen appliances at this point in the game. By next week I expect him to have built a robot that can fish and split firewood.

Dude would not eat a slug but a squished mouse is fine. [sick]
He doesn't seem like he's doing to well after 14 days and that's his first protein.
No emergency rations on his survival list either.

Glad its back on tonight. Watching now. After the last episode I thought Larry got a little clarity although he's nuts. As tonight's episode is going, he's a nut for sure and I'm rooting for him.
