Folger-arus coffee. The next cup will wake BBN up!Folgers with some extra syllables
I can tell you a commit would be the best part of waking up.Folger-arus coffee. The next cup will wake BBN up!
I don't see why the commitment from Quaintance should really impact Folgueiras' decision. A healthy Quaintance is an athletic specimen at Center, similar in some ways to what Amari Williams brought. But I think Quaintance quickly loses a lot of the appeal his athleticism brings if you try to pigeonhole him into the PF spot and play two Bigs together. In that case you're going to need a different offensive philosophy because you're not spreading the floor. That article was on the 7th before JQ so who knows now
He did back in the day. His source was coach O though. Once he got a different job, TBK dried up and closed its doors. When he got hired back again, all of a sudden, Memanboy appeared on Twitter. Of course, he doesn’t have a paying business, but he still likes the attention, so now he just spouts things he reads on the Internet as if his “sources“ are telling him these things.why would maggard continue to act like an insider, he has proven he knows nothing over the years
No, per TOS. Just because it’s quiet don’t meet its ova!!!!!So is the Alvara saga over? It's been suddenly silent concerning him.
He's the portal player I've wanted the most. No, per TOS. Just because it’s quiet don’t meet its ova!!!!!
Your avatar should be made into tshirts for the student section if gameday comes to Rupp next year. No, per TOS. Just because it’s quiet don’t meet its ova!!!!!
Damn straightPoint remains. Put Carr on Robert Morris, let him play that schedule, and see what stats he puts up. Pretty sure he would have some gaudy #s going up against the Lindenwood, Canisius, Stonehill, Purdue Ft Wayne, St. Francis and Detroit Mercy's of the world. Bobby Morris played ONE decent team in the regular season, West Virginia. AF scored ZERO points in 26 minutes. Don't get me wrong, I like the kid and think he is a fine player, but lets not act like he is the next coming of Jokic.
I agree completely. He's the portal player I've wanted the most.
With all of this Brandon Garrison SMOKE, does this guy become priority #1 for Coach Pope? No, per TOS. Just because it’s quiet don’t meet its ova!!!!!
Would hope we have the resources to go all in on both. You no longer have to pay BG and we got some players at a bargain. With all of this Brandon Garrison SMOKE, does this guy become priority #1 for Coach Pope?
I realize Wilkerson would be a HUGE pickup, but we REALLY need a Stretch 4!!!!
Is Coach Pope harrassing this kid to come to UK?? If not, he DEFINITELY should be!!!
That's the 3 I'd love to see Pope get in to UKGet three more
- Alvaro
- Andrija Jelavic
- Wilkerson
Now that’s a team!
If we go 3/3 on that, I’m gonna be so annoying lolGet three more
- Alvaro
- Andrija Jelavic
- Wilkerson
Now that’s a team!
I know all about the Folgers. The best part of waking up will be if this dude commits during the nightFolger-arus coffee. The next cup will wake BBN up!
Finally, a devil's advocate on Folgueiras. Yes, he's skilled but does that translate against an athletic and physical SEC?Point remains. Put Carr on Robert Morris, let him play that schedule, and see what stats he puts up. No it wasn't a failure, you just can't read. I responded to the quote "we got Mgbako here for a campus visit, and I want AF waayyyy more". My response did not have anything to do with whether Pope could sign him with or without him visiting campus. I simply said it would be hard to get AF in for a campus visit, he is in Spain. But I do agree with you, I am a smart ss, probably a smart *** also. But you twisted my post to saying I said Pope couldn't sign AF without a campus visit. I didn't remotely say that. I stated the reason why we couldn't get him in for a campus visit, huge difference. How many players sign without a campus visit. ?
Coach Pope has had a few.
Your attempt at being a smart_ss was successful, but your point was a failure.
And my point is was WHY even give Mgbako a visit. No it wasn't a failure, you just can't read. I responded to the quote "we got Mgbako here for a campus visit, and I want AF waayyyy more". Exactly. Meaning that was why we couldn't get him on campus for a visit, he was in Spain. That was why.The poster said "we got Mgbako for a visit." I stated why we couldn't get AF, he is in Spain (thus not able to visit Lexington). I SAID WE COULDNT" GET HIM ON CAMPUS BECAUSE HE WAS IN SPAIN, NOTHING TO DO WITH WHETER POPE COULD OR COULDN"T SIGN HIM WITHOUT A VISIT. Surely you are not that dense ????? Also, I didn't say we should have given Mgbako a visit. EVERY word of my post was stating why he couldn't come to Lexington. Now that he is back in the US, he can. Nothing more, nothing less. Last post with you, you are too hard headed to read what actually is being said. And my point is was WHY even give Mgbako a visit.
And YES you insinuated that Coach Pope needed a campus visit to sign Alvaro. And I stated that he had ACTUALLY signed some kids without one. And my problem was with entertaining Mgbako even if we couldn’t sign Alvaro.
And you SPECIFICALLY mentioned that we didn’t have a campus in Spain!!
My employer would tend to agree with you. These guys need to make their choice soon so I can stop wasting time perusing the nets for updates every 10 minutes.
I think Alvaro's offensive skills will translate after adjusting to the uptick in the level of competition, but after watching the highlights of the RMU-Bama NCAAT game, he seemed to struggle defensively. He has limited lateral quickness, and although it was only highlights, he looked a little soft and weak when mixing it up in the paint. PnR defense was a major issue, and I recall him being down on the floor crumpled in a heap, a la "Big Z", with contact a few times as well. Definitely would love to have him, but his defensive ability is at least a question mark from my perspective. Finally, a devil's advocate on Folgueiras. I've changed course after watching film. Metrics mean jack squat when your playing limited competition. (Yes, I watched him against Bama but that's a small sample size) Just color me skeptical.
I think Garrison can be replaced, but personally I hope he stays and develops under Pope's tutelage.

Yes, he's very crafty with the passes and I can see that working great in Pope's system. Skill-wise, I think his offensive game would be fine, but he has "room for growth" on the defensive side. He got tripped in one instance for sure, but in rewatching the vid to refresh my memory, I counted no less than 4 times he was on the deck. Also, the PnR defense was really bad. Much of that can be blamed on the drop coverage RMU employed, but it still was not pretty. He was never able to recover to the roller in any PnR situation he was involved and Bama feasted.Made a couple of clever passes, popped a three. He didn't seem that bad. He got tripped which caused the fall.
Is that info or your assumption?
In other words, you're just guessing.Both.
General consensus is heading that way. No hard info saying not Kentucky. Not clear if projections are steering that way in lieu of JQ & Dioubate commitment or something more substantial, but projections appear to be swaying that way.
I'm a big Folgueiras proponent for next season's squad. I think they really need him ideally. But I think your concerns are fair, and you were also quick in your analysis of why some of those defensive lapses might not be entirely on him. And, of course, Folgueiras had a double double in that game against AL and that video doesn't show all his plays (scores, rebounds, blocks etc.).Yes, he's very crafty with the passes and I can see that working great in Pope's system.
