LOL hopefully that got your attention. Its pretty cool that Amazon lets you see this level detail.

$589 dollars only? Spread the word, buy through Smile and Designate RU foundation. It costs you nothing!

I'm a pretty average consumer... if we assume the avg consumer could donate 9 bucks through their purchases, we've only got about 65 users buying through amazon smile with RU as their charity.

WE CAN DO BETTER.

The problem is that you can't do it in the app which most people probably use to make a majority of their purchases .

I'm fine thank you.. just spreading awareness. There are probably 200-300 whiners on here that state they can't contribute, they probably buy on amazon and they probably don't use the FREE feature to get their school some money.
I think you missed my point.

Could you be more specific?

Are you making a joke that Its a paperback?
Telling me to read it?
Showing me its not a smile.amazon link?
Lol there are many ways to interpret your post.

You could probably do a better job of rallying support for RU by treating people with respect as opposed to starting out with an insult.

My account has been attached to the RU Fund for around 3 years. 1% isn't much but it is free money for the foundation. I had a couple e-mails with Sarah asking about the school possibly connecting the Build Fund to Amazon. Don't remember the specifics but it never materialized.

She probably went to the foundation, and they probably told her to stop wasting their time, they only get like $500 from it!

Didn't know about this. My wife and I use amazon all the time.
It's been discussed several times over the last few years. Hard to believe I'm responsible for just shy of 10% of that paltry RU total. We need to post an Amazon Smile thread every couple of months for the stragglers (or instead bump this thread to satisfy our star poster).

It's 0.5% but if we all did it...

(And to Leonard's point, purchases from the app don't count for some inexplicable reason so you need to make sure to use mobile web if you're on your phone).

So again.. i didn't miss your point. I said no thanks. I'm not here to make friends. i'm here to get people motivated to contribute to the school in anyway possible... The title of thread was going for shock value to get eyes on this. Instead, you are lecturing me on how to be effective.

This is a way that you can contribute and have it cost you ZILCH, Nothing, Nada. I've posted about it before, i know others have. Yet we have 3000 people on these boards, guessing 75% of them have bought on amazon this year. That $500 dollar number is an embarrassment...Yet if we had a penny for every time some cheap bastid on here complained about Concessions, Recruiting, the coaches pants, the traffic, the BIG contracts, we'd be freaking millionaires.

Lets keep spreading the word, because there is free money out there and beggars can't be choosers.

So all Amazon Smile purchases go to the RU fund or is it split?
If you log in to amazon through the smile.amazon link (you will know you are on amazon smile because the logo will be different) any purchases you make will have .5% go towards the charity you choose. So please use this, I hope for RU, but at least choose any charity with a good cause.

Actually, you're STILL missing the point. Nevermind, if you were receptive to the point, you wouldn't have posted the way you did. Carry on.

Just be sure to log in through the smile link... i had to delete the traditional web address from my browsing history and replaced it with a bookmark through smile. There still have been a few times that i made purchases outside of smile.

Thanks, I had never heard of this. I have an Amazon delivery to my house almost daily.

I didn't know about this. And I get several boxes from Amazon on my porch each week.

Can you give more details?
How does it work? Can I make amazon automatically redirect me to the smile site? Or do something in my browser to do this? Do I still get my Amazon Prime benefits?

I guess the app doesn't recognize this per other posts.

Just go to smile.amazon.com
Log in like you would through the normal amazon page. Under "account and lists" drop down, go to "your amazonsmile".
As others have posted, this will not work for subscriptions. It will work for most other purchases that you would make through amazon.

That total is crazy low.

FWIW, my personal total is 89.50, which apparently makes up 15% of all Amazonsmile donations to the Rutgers University Foundation.

I had no idea about this option, thank you for the info. Started using it today for a small order for my business. Also, told my wife and daughter about it and they definitely order more than me. Really need to get the word out more. Rutgers could put in the magazines, alumni mails and to all the students.

I've been using Amazon Smile for a few years, but my donations go to a charity that I support.
I've had 102 orders generate a total of $14.94 for the charity.
The charity has received a total of $593.91 from supporters so far.
You may have never known of the charity that I donate too. It's to support an organization advocating for
research and patient support for a rare disease that I have.

1st sorry to hear, hope everything is ok.
2nd I hope you know i'm not trying to call you out. Just spreading awareness to those who buy everyday and dont know they can do this.
