Tough to watch so far. I can't stay focused on it. I start wondering what is going on and rewind only to find out I still don't know because they don't explain anything. I like the characters but I hate feeling lost.
I like it. To me, part of the interest is the not knowing whats going on. I'm with Been, that is why I liked Lost so much. That is until the last episode where I was left sitting there saying wtf?
Back to Preacher....
Do you guys think that the 2 guys with the chain saw, music machine and coffee can are vampire hunters, or are they hunting the creature/force that has possessed the Preacher (and Cassidy just assumed that they were hunting him)?
Having read the comic book series, I have a decent idea.....but I got semi-blasted for revealing a little something that was revealed off-handedly in the next episode.
I think they are representatives of The Grail, a secret organization protecting the bloodline of Jesus Christ whom has modern day descendants. I honestly don't know how they are going to present much of the story of the comic books. It will be highly controversial if they just follow the storylines anywhere close to verbatim.
Additionally, I don't personally see how they can actually depict some much of what the comic books did. It would be just too controversial. So I could be wrong on just about everything. They may just take the concept of the voice of God being with Jesse Custer and go off on their own.
What was the significance of the flashback to 1881 with the sick child?

thought the ppl hanging from the tree looked like native americans. I took it as the tree is something he ran across later that day. I think they showed the same tree modern day at somepoint in the episode.no idea. This is what I think I saw.
Sick kid. Mom sends dad on a journey to get medicine. Tells him to be back in 2 days, 3 at the most. Don't dilly dally along the way.
Dad runs across a group of nice people looking for a new start out west. Has a meal with them. Kills them all. Hangs them from a tree. Then continues his journey.
Maybe Dad was possessed by something evil? Not sure.

Sorry to hear everyone's kinda, "meh" about it. Previews looked interesting but I haven't had time to watch any of the recordings, yet.
I've only watched the first two but I like it. I've read the books so I get what it is about. That probably has a lot to do with it.
IMO, the books as written are basically unfilmable for TV.
