According to this, they have to play three years to be vested. Later retirees receive around 5k a month depending on the number of years. It doesn't look as good some may think.

True… Most guys don’t make it anywhere close to 10 years in the league to receive the league max. The only other benefit he gets is full medical.

By comparison I have a friend who played for the A's for 13 seasons in the 60s and 70s. He said he never made over 20K/year. He's 80 now and his MLB Pension is over 70k/year.
