I’m not super familiar with Bill Maher, but people have posted lots of his videos the last year and I’ve always found them spot on. Think he really nailed it with this one. I’m sure this will get sent to the political board but just don’t see how you can disagree with his overall point and thought it was worth sharing.

Bill Maher calls himself a libertarian but he was always a Democrat supporter and pretty far left at that. The funny thing is that the democrats have gone so far left that Maher now sounds more reasonable than the Bernie/Warren/AOC wing of the party who seem to be in charge.

I don’t get it. China builds because they have to. 40 years ago they were 3rd world. So the infrastructure binge doesn’t mean that much to me. But he’s right that we can’t get much done. What he fails to say is that they are united around one (evil) force: the CCP. What are we united around now? The sad news is that we won’t be united around common principle ever again. It’s the logical outcome of teaching your youth to hate their country.

All true. I watch him to torture myself apparently because he’s not that funny but I appreciate listening to the other side as well. Not really sure why most “comedians” go that route but it’s fine. I love comedy and laughing is great. He’s just kind of douchey about everything and acts like he knows it all. Obviously it’s worked. Good for him.

To Maher's credit, he is one of the few prominent liberals who didn't lose his marbles over Corona. One of very few.

I watch his show somewhat regularly and have so since the politically incorrect days.

Altho I am pretty solidly rep and I don’t agree with him many times, I find him to be fairly level headed with regard to certain subjects. He’s also infuriatingly silly with regard to others—which I won’t post to avoid the fight.

He does at times equally blast the left for their silliness tho which I enjoy.

Bill Maher and Ann Colter are the yin and yang of political satire and oddly they are fairly good friends. Lately they have both crossed the lines of their own political leanings to take shots at their own.

He's not wrong about some parts of his China statement...but he also glosses over the whole human toll and disregard for life thing in China. When you have no standards for life and no other choice as a worker they can build things in a day.

There it is

I didn't hear Bill talk about how homogeneous China is

Hard to be SJW when it's one race controlled by the government
To be fair, it's not just one race there, but they're currently commiting genocide against them, so soon enough it will be just one. Yay communism! 🤮

Exactly my thoughts. You know it's bad when I'm agreeing with Maher on things and he's always been a democrat.

Maher can go to Hell. He's a lying, intellectually dishonest, pompous hypocrite and a POS. So he's against the woke ****, yet supported (and continues to support) democrats who are destroying society with this "progressive" insanity. I'd respect him more if he owned the results of his actions. Typical of the left.

Kind of like a cartoon I saw once. (Discussing a bully they know) "You can't help but like the guy. If you don't, he'll beat you up."

As a fiscal conservative I don’t feel very represented by the Republican Party or the Democratic Party. Sorry that doesn’t suit you
There are other parties—or you can be an agent of change in your own party.

He's a typical attention ***** just spouting controversial takes for eyeballs. Doubt if he actually believes in anything.

I've never followed him and stay out of politics in general. If he really feels this way, he should have a love fest with Trump. Trump was trying to combat all this. China relies on no government regulations, slave labor, polluted environments, stealing technology, to just scratch the surface. So that will make it alot easier to do all of the things he talked about.

He's inconsistent af. Endlessly railed against the one President who has ever tried to do anything about China and supports liberal D's and Hollywood who hate and want to destroy this country.

He is right to call out the politically correct woke virtue signaling speech police ruining this country though.

This is Maher at his best...and Jordan Peterson at his normal self (which is better than just about anybody else on cultural issues):

It sounds like you want him on your side 100% of the time. Most people don't go all in with one party or the other, or one guy for that matter. Sure, he didn't like Trump but he criticizes both sides. Half the time his New Rules segments go after liberals. And I'm not sure how he supports Hollywood. It's not like he has a movie career. He is rich and lives in CA, but most are and do who have successful shows. I'm sure he's smug af, but he hits the nail on the head occasionally.

Billy Maher has a longstanding feud with Trump, wouldn't like him if Trump had declared the United leftist states of atheism and bong smoking.

He goes after the left because he understand the left's bigotry is doomed to failure and other self serving reasons.

That said, I'm a huge Maher fan and have watched him religiously since the 90s. He means what he says, genuinely, and isn't dumb or naive, which is not something you can say about the vast majority of today's so-called liberals.

I'm sure you know a lot about Bill Maher.

When is the last time you watched his current show?

No one is going to be on the same side in 100% of issues but someone who calls themself a libertarian shouldn’t be blaming the government for a virus killing people. Did he want the government forcing us into MORE of a lockdown? That’s not a very small government aka libertarian point of view. He calls himself a libertarian because he got embarrassed to be a democrat and is far from a Republican

Pray tell, what is a Fiscal Conservative.

I think my grand dad spoke of such a creature!

Hey, ten trillion, here, ten trillion, there, before long you’re talking serious money!

Rand Paul and Thomas Massie are about as close as it gets these days
