Amherst Goes Down In OT

3 blocked extra points has never happened before. Not able to tackle and 3 unsportsmanlike calls cost us lots of yardage. Brookville has a good QB and can pass. Amherst fought back and tied it up before time ran out. Scored first and finally made the extra point then Brookville scored and went for two. Should have never went to OT because of the blocked extra points. Maybe they needed a wake up call, just didn't seem like the team I know tonight
I'm ok, it was obvious that he was missed and they will turn it around. 3 blocked field goals hurt and not tackling was so bad that the Bees was able to get long runs and score. They were down by a couple TDs but fought back and tied it up. We went for 2 instead if extra and didn't get it. In OT we scored first and made the extra point and then the Bees scored and went for 2 and got it. But the 3 unsportsmanlike calls hurt a lot, gave the Bees way too much yardage and they were able to score. So unnecessary that I believe that cost us the game. That should never happen 3 in a game
Yes he has and he was smart last night also for not punting to Amherst, he onside kicked about 3-4 times and with a wet field!
I agree, the backup was great, but Keshon usually scores a couple OT TDs defense and special teams needs to practice a lot this week
Not sure, I hope for the playoffs, probably stayed in the Liberty game to long

When someone post about players injuries doesn't always mean we are saying that is why we lost, just part of the conversation is all. But key players can make a difference. 1500 students don't play on the field, You can have 1500 to pick from but might not have as many athletes to pick from as someone with 700. I said that we had 3 unsportsmanlike calls and not tackling so not sure who you are quoting. The fans last night were upset at our team and a few other things. We can just wait and see when that Friday night gets here and play the game on the field. I hope we are healthy as well.
Who cares about Appo.The goal is to get healthy for playoffs.If Appo has a problem with Amherst maybe yall can stay on your own field and practice.

He should be back in 2 weeks and Amherst lost the game during the week not friday.I thought it was a good lost for this team,they needed it.

I was just stating what I hear from your fans about last years game. You was one of them if my memory serves me correctly. Blaming the loss on 2 players that was out.
Another thing, so what if yall beat us this year.....You supposed to, your 4A! Im glad we can just see what we are made of playing bigger schools. Its not gonna hurt us much in points if we lose. We dont face yall in playoffs, sooooo....*shrugs shoulders*

I remember what I said, it does hurt when you lose key players but that is not why we lost, Appomattox was clearly better last year. I remember several things I didn't like but will not repeat it again. I hope Amherst never plays there again. For your information, most of the Amherst fans I know we're rooting for in the State Game. Yes we were glad to let you use our field. We have let many use our fields, including LU for practice. Brookville used it years ago for a playoff game and guess what, our booster members shopped and worked in short notice so there would be concessions.
So if we beat you, you will use the excuse that we were supposed to beat you because we are 4A. Many years Amherst always played up and won, some teams are just better no matter what district or region you are in

I see fractured ankle and then someone else said he'd be back in 2 weeks? Those two statements seem incongruous to me. I'm not saying anything against you Wikki, I'm just confused by the apparent conflicts. I'm no doctor, but I don't think a player would come back from a fractured ankle in a total of 3 weeks? Is he out for the rest of the year, or what's your understanding @wikki?
If he actually fractured his ankle, 2 more weeks seems like an extremely fast return. He injured it September 30 and you think he would be out only 2 more weeks, returning October 28th? I know young people heal fast especially in sports, but that seems amazing if it's actually fractured. That seems like a 6-8 week recovery time at minimum. Did he have surgery? I'm just curious, I hope he can return quickly and not have any lingering issues.
If he's back in 2 weeks then he didn't fracture an ankle, especially not the same ankle he fractured less than a year ago. Either Lineheart is confused or the rest of us are because I've never heard of 14 day recoveries for athletes with fractured ankles. I swear I saw toe sprain listed on a site so maybe that's what was initially reported but now I check the same place(WSET) and it says fractured ankle. They didn't give a time frame on his recovery so you'd think that suggests there's at least a chance he returns but who knows. If he fractured his ankle as all have been saying then I doubt we see him until the playoffs, potentially deep in the playoffs if Amherst makes a run.

It will not be two weeks, he fractured his ankle. I have no idea but I didn't say two weeks someone else did and not sure why
I wish the kid the best also but the injury has everything to do with the level and location of the fracture. based on this, the kid COULD play Friday. Everything else is conjecture. And this is from a six ankle fracture individual. Can't even count the number of sprains.

It actually was not us using your field. It was Nelson the week we had to play them. We had nothing to do with that. That was 2014 season and a light pole fell on Nelsons field and they didnt want to use our field. They asked Amherst so it could be on nuetral grounds.
NOW, what i thought you was talking about and I was mistaken is Appo using your field last year for practice. We used it to prepare ourselves for the State game. It was in Salem and we wanted our players to get the feel for turf because we hadn't been on it all season. We practiced in Amherst 2 nights I think. Thanks again for being courteous. I love yalls principal, he is a good dude.
I know it wasn't you wikki, that said 2 weeks. I just kept seeing fractured ankle and then someone else said 2 weeks, and I didn't think that made much sense. I think it may have been Lineheart, and I'm not trying to bash him or stir anything up with anyone just trying to clarify. I know he's young, but that sounds like a 6-8 week recovery at a bare minimum. (I'm not a Dr so what do I know) I told the Dr at the football game Fri night what had happened to Turner and without me asking he quickly said probably done for the year. I guess it depends on the severity and how quick he heals. For his sake and the team's sake, I hope he can recover fully and quickly. I just don't want to see him come back fast, only to reinjure the ankle and cause lifelong problems and pain.

Yes he is and you're welcome. Other teams used out field to practice on also for state games

I have no pain at all and I can assure you, a sprain is far worse and more incapacitating than a simple fracture. I played Centerfield almost a whole season with a fractured ankle. Didn't miss a game. Yes, it hurt and it can get tweaked but you can play effectively on it once you're tightly taped and get loosened up. Of course, there were other times when I was in a cast for 4 weeks. Like I said, depends on the fracture. Never needed surgery on them.
Again, I wish all the injured kids from every team the very best and hope they recover soon.
I had 2 bad sprains when I used to hike. It was caused by foot drop due to the MS. One time my kids were with me. I had to walk 1/2 a mile after the injury. They were young and I didn't want them to be scared, so I just passed it off that I tripped and fell. I had to drive a manual shift home for about an hour and a half from Crabtree Falls.
The 2nd time I was by myself. I had to walk about 1/2 mile after the injury with nightfall 30 minutes away. I then had to drive the aforementioned manual shift 20 minutes home from McAfee's Knob.
I would take a month off from hiking and then I'd be right back out there. My wife at the time said I was stubborn, I preferred to use the word determined.
