Awesome DJ, y'all will have a blast. Sounds like your last trip was before the facelift, with the painted seats, sideline LCD and all that.
Has anyone else discussed Amile potentially getting a medical redshirt this year and coming back next year full strength? He played so few games this year I'm sure it would be granted...I for one wouldn't mind that.
And just FYI - that doesn't mean I'm giving up on this season. Just that it's difficult for him to come back when we're all predicting and not have it mess with our chemistry a little. If he would get granted a MR, he would be part of our program another full year. That excites me...
Anyway just my .02.
I just don't see Amile disrupting team chemistry. I think it's a lot different bringing a PG like Kyrie back late in the season compared to a post player. Only time will tell.

I agree, and not necessarily because of postion. I think the team chemistry concern only comes into play when the team is really rolling, like the Kyrie example from 2011. That team had accomplished a lot, including an ACC Championship, without Kyrie. I don't think a team that's 9-4 without Amile (or whatever they'll be by the time he returns) will worry about him messing up their groove. His return will be seamless I think.
Yeah, I don't think we were winning it all in 2011 w/o Kyrie. His return gave us our best shot to win it all, but it worked out differently.i agree about amile and this team, but I didnt see Kyrie's return as being bad....yeah, Nolan deferred a bit, but Kyrie was big in the Michigan game and the Arizona game just got outta hand in the 2nd half...they were hitting everything and nolan had a bad shooting night and iirc kyle as well
Derrick Williams...where is he now? Kyrie seems to be doing okay for himself on the other handI don't think Kyrie's return had a detrimental effect, but it doesn't matter anyway because if you have a guy like Kyrie and he is healthy enough to play, he 100% plays. That's a no brainer. That loss really had more to do with Arizona being comically efficient offensively. I hear people complain about guys going out of their minds against Duke. Sometimes it's typical fan banter, but in that case Arizona was just out of this world. That power forward made himself millions of dollars that game, and has spent all the time since then falling hard back to earth.
Yep and that's also why its so hard to win a national championship. All it takes in one insane shooting performance and you're out. For K to have 5 is unreal.I don't think Kyrie's return had a detrimental effect, but it doesn't matter anyway because if you have a guy like Kyrie and he is healthy enough to play, he 100% plays. All we can do right now is hope....if we get him back mid feb he would get some game time in before ACCT and the big dance and that's all we can hope for now...we need to win games without him starting tomorrow nightSome are saying Saturday, February 13 vs. Virginia is a strong option.
I hope you/they are right but K's quotes don't lead me to believe itSome are saying Saturday, February 13 vs. Virginia is a strong option.
The "out awhile" part means less to me as the "we would be putting him in harms way if he tried to play now". I assume K would want him to have a few days if not a full week of full go practice participation before game action so that doesn't leave much time for someone that could make the injury worse right now. Not like an ankle sprain where you just need to play through the pain and not roll it again. If it was beginning of march I would see them rushing him, but not yet. That's kind of what I got from his quotes too, but K has never really been one to tip his hand. Besides....it depends how you interpret "he's still going to be out a while"....the 13th is still almost two weeks away.
Per Laura Keeley Amile was back in the boot today..
Yes, that's correct, and if he was wearing it despite playing, it's wise for Amile to wear his now.Yea he was but I'm hoping it is more of a precautionary thing than a set back, if I remember correctly Curry wore a boot in between games his senior year to rest/protect his foot
Yeah, he began wearing it for the sake of wearing itYes, that's correct, and if he was wearing it despite playing, it's wise for Amile to wear his now.
Didn't Rip Hamilton wear that facemask long after he'd had a broken nose?
Yea, and I could be mistaken but I thought I remember Ryan Kelly doing the same thing. I could be wrong about that though. And didn't Okafor wear one during the game he missed last year also? Just for precautionary measuresYea he was but I'm hoping it is more of a precautionary thing than a set back, if I remember correctly Curry wore a boot in between games his senior year to rest/protect his foot
