That’s good to know. I just got a new roof without solar. Maybe I didn’t miss the boat after all.Thats why I didnt get solar because the solar energy storage unit costs 10K and needs to be replaced every 10 years....there goes your savings on your SCE bill
Which means it has become worthless. When you need new batteries $50+k.

That’s only for systems that are independent of the grid. Solar systems themselves are good for 25 years or moreThat’s good to know. I just got a new roof without solar. Maybe I didn’t miss the boat after all.
I am no expert but if you do not have a energy storage system you have no way of banking the electricity you have, so if there is a power outage and you have no storage system you have no electricity. That’s only for systems that are independent of the grid. Look guys, there’s been a lot of negative statements in this thread. In the spirit of fairness, lets listen to an expert from the other side..

Educate me Puds...what does independent of the grid mean?....My neighbor bought years ago a system on the cheap and he doesnt pay a penny to SCE. The rules have changed since then its not so affordable anymore. As I said before..
The grid/system now requires most people to send their electric power generated into the main grid and then it’s returned. Don’t ask me why. I believe, from what I was told, battery charging can only occur while the grid is up, so if you use up your stored power and the grid is down, they won’t recharge until power is restored.Educate me Puds...what does independent of the grid mean?....My neighbor bought years ago a system on the cheap and he doesnt pay a penny to SCE. I've seen those solar generators in ads on TV....they start around $1200The grid/system now requires most people to send their electric power generated into the main grid and then it’s returned. If I was going to get any type of backup system it would be a solar powered generator. More economical and not grid reliant.
Yeah but in the meantime with their smoke and mirrors, the libtards made the taxpayers subsidize much of these.Which means it has become worthless.
I don't think even 'cars for kids' or a junk yard will take it off your hands.
If no one will take it, that means you are stuck with it.
So for all you Utopians
Good ones are more, but reasonable compared to battery backup systems..I've seen those solar generators in ads on TV....they start around $1200
