He was a very injury prone QB. Talk about leaving your team hanging at the last hour. Geez

Did you watch the Colts very often? More like the team and owner left him hanging. He was killed time after time behind a pitiful line. Good for him leaving on his terms and not just hanging around drawing a massive check when he feels he's mentally done.

I really don’t think his timing matters too much here, they have jacoby who seems to be a decent QB... by no means does he have the same potential as luck had, but when you’re injured and sitting more than you’re playing it doesn’t matter how much potential you have, because it’s just that potential.... it’s not production... the colts seemed to have developed a history now of not having the online to keep their QB safe... maybe that will change now after drafting newsome last year and now losing a QB who is tired of getting his butt whooped

I don't think he was injury prone at all. He spent most of his career getting hammered repeatedly.

Dude went to Stanford, he is pretty smart. When team management refuses to protect you and you have 100 million in-between your couch cushions, it was probably an easier decision than one thinks.

Luck is a smart guy, He's dealt with a lot injuries and has so much money at this point in his career he can focus on being a husband, father, and probably use that Stanford degree if he wants. Otherwise he can put those millions into the market and make millions in passive income. This game doesn't last forever kudos to him for ending things on his own terms.

Colts had the best oline in the league last year starting two rookies and two guys under 26. Colts are one of the best young teams in the NFL with a very capable backup in brissett. He isn't Andrew luck, but I bet he will still be a top 20 QB. Plus the colts defense should be solid.

Luck went Vegan 2 years ago.
Wonder how long Cam Newton has now that he has gone Vegan. I say 1.5 years.

Colts fans at the game tonight are pitiful punks for booing him off the field. Ultimate embarrassment for this franchise.

The Colts let Luck down not the other way around. They failed him for 7 years, every other team with a great QB immediately tries to provide proper protection. What a shame that franchise is.

I kind of disagree with this. The colts failed him for 5 years. Grigson failed to provide a team for him. Since Ballard became gm before the 2017 season, the colts didn't fail him. He had everything he needed to be successful for the next 5+ years. Ballard was really good for Luck. The injuries from before Ballard caught up to him.

I’m actually kind of embarrassed to see all this negative talk about Kap here, the NFL really screwed this guy over, bottom line. Now I’m not a Kap fan I think there were better ways to go about doing what he wanted to do, but, with that said it is a free country.

I’m in the army and have been serving for the past 15 years. I never once felt personally offended when he took a knee, I thought, at the time, this is the type of thing we fight for, so people can speak without reprisal. Kap was at the time a very solid QB I’d feel comfortable saying he was a top 10 starter. The NFL has obviously done what the can to keep him out of the league and at this point maybe he isn’t a top 10 QB anymore since he has been removed for so long. I guess to try to shorten this up Kap was at the time a very good QB and the NFL had no reason to black list him, it seems to be a lot of you judge him based on his protest and not the body of his work, and if that’s the case I ask you then are you any better if a person then the one you are judging? now who knows if he is still as good as he was before all this but I’d think he’d be worthy of at least a look...

My first reaction was "what a wimp", but then I was reminded that he lacerated a kidney back in 2015. It was life threatening and took a very long time for him to recover from. I think that injury was the scary one and it put retirement on his mind. He's also had the shoulder injury that kept him out a year and now this lower leg issue. So three long term injuries in six years plus whatever else he had to deal with. So I understand it now.

He's so talented though. I hope he takes the year off to recover, get stronger and then rejoin the Colts behind that great offensive line for a few more years in the league.

Andrew Luck graduated from Stanford. He's not stupid. He was getting destroyed by a pathetic offensive line, which led to his injuries. As he said himself, he's 29 and doesn't enjoy the game anymore because of all of this, and I don't blame him at all. Good call.

Indianapolis sucks anyway.

Luck was the most protected QB in the NFL last year and the colts were Superbowl contenders this year. Now they are probably a 9 win team at best.

Enjoy your embarrassment. Kap is one ignorant human being.

That is your opinion and I’m good with your opinion, but the fact that you think he is an idiot doesn’t change the body of work he has put out there... you’re only looking at the surface of my message, which was indeed I’m embarrassed of the negative Kap talk.... but the body of my message was despite how he went about his issues (which again I do think there were better ways of getting his point across) he was a solid QB deserving of a shot to continue his career... I can think of a few teams where he could have fit in after leaving SF and still been successful. Now again I don’t know if he is still as good because he has been out of the league, (again due to being blacklisted by owners) for so long. But at the time of his exit he was a top 10 starter “idiot” or not... I’ve seen way worse humans given second chances in the NFL after doing way worse than taking a knee for a cause he thought was worthy of bringing attention to... let that sink in for a little
