I know there was talk about Quinn having the flu. I know Jahlil still seemed to be laboring a bit on his ankle and seemed to re-tweak it during the NC State game. During the UNC game I recall the announcers saying 5 Duke players had sprained ankles. Justice has been banged up for a while also. How are the guys feeling going into the tournament? I am curious but just haven't heard much talk on this topic heading into the most important time of the year.

Duke doesn't do injury reports. K also doesn't make excuses. Five fingers make a fist. Let's punch those injuries in the face.

There are some real nasty flu viruses going around right now. I truly hope that it hasn't found its way into our locker room.

Might see a decrease in PT for a short bit with Grayson, we'll see. We've had 7 total days off, the boys should have had plenty of time to heal up and rest how they can.

No excuses. I played a league championship game with the flu. Didn't put up Jordan numbers, but we won, and wouldn't have without my help. And I was in my late twenties! These kids can fight through it!

Tough time for the Flu to hit. Understandable if Quinn had it, it will probably grab someone else. Just hope it doesn't ravage the whole team!
As for the ankles, I really believe Okafor has a worse problem than the team is letting on. But true to form, we will not know and K will not make any excuses.
Just have to hope the team gets on a roll and really wants this Ship!
Go Duke!!

I don't buy this stuff. MJ had the flu but there are some flus that are worse than others. I've had the flu where I could function with adrenalin for a couple of hours. Then I've had flu that was so bad I could not get out of bed if there was a fire.

And, because the greatest competitive athlete of all-time does this (and we really don't know how bad a flu it was) doesn't mean that if a team has a virus going through it that this doesn't impact play.

Same with injuries.

The "no excuses ever" idea is a myth. Let's just imagine that Michael Jordan and Pippen both go down with broken legs before one of their finals ... "no excuses ever?" The Bulls are still expected to play like the best team and win the title? That's just not going to happen.

Luck, matchups, and injuries all have an impact on the outcome of games and there's no getting around that.

Coach K said in the press conference today that Jahlil really hasn't been playing at 100% since tweaking his ankle against UNC but that this week they have seen a lot of improvement. The last couple of practices Jah has been really fluid and his lateral movements have been really good as he is just doing it instead of thinking about the ankle. He said that other than Allen being sick the team is pretty healthy going into the tournament.

Really really good news if he felt comfortable enough to tell that! And sorry you don't but that but I've heard "have the flu" soooo many times after a loss on different levels that I don't usually pay it any attention. Not saying it never is true jus tak it with a grain of salt

Well, you know I think back to our team in 2008 and Demarcus Nelson was very sick that week going into the weekend. I honestly still believe had he not been sick we would have made it to the elite eight that year. That team was better than their early exit. MUCH better. So I definitely want our guys to be healthy and ready for Robert Morris Friday night and if we win, then I hope we are ready for Sunday's game.
