While watching the White Sox game on FS1 last night, they were advertising a decent amount for our upcoming Nebraska matchup, which is good. Also heard that Jason Benetti (the White Sox PxP guy) is going to be going over to Ireland to call the game. He is a fantastic PxP guy across sports - it's always way worse when the Sox are on national TV and I can't get the local feed through MLB TV. He recently got bought away from ESPN (where he did a lot of CBB, sometimes with Bill Walton on Pac12 games, and had some lower tier CFB games) for a better deal by FOX. He said that while he loved his experience, it was because there were so many guys ahead of him at ESPN and he has more upside with FOX. Great to see that they are rewarding him with a nationally televised game like this already.

Not sure who the color person is (Styre might have already posted it elsewhere), but for those of you not making the trip across the pond, I expect you'll have an enjoyable viewing experience. Maybe I'll catch Jason in person while over there and say hello.

2 days until kickoff. Getting stoked. GO CATS!

You won't see Benetti over there; he's calling the game remotely from a US studio. But I agree he's a fantastic game caller.

Brock Huard is on color.

on FS1 last night they said that he was flying over there after tomorrow's (ie today's now) White Sox Orioles game. but honestly, i'd probably trust your information more than the FS1 baseball announcers, who might have just been assuming that he would be there live.

if he does it remotely from the US studio, will miss less baseball. but still for a marquee event would think FOX would pay up to fly them across.

Chicago baseball fans are very, very spoiled. (I have not heard a Len Kaspar radio call, I’ll note.) (I think Deshaies is a little annoyin.)

I spent a decade with Chippy in ATL, and now I’ve got Matt Shepard in DET. Terrible, on all counts.

Benetti is truly one of the best. His broadcasts with Walton will be missed.

*the baseball is miserable, but the broadcasts are as pleasant as possible given the circumstances

The FS1 announcers - who were calling their own game remotely! - were mistaken. Unfortunately I don't think FOX considers this a marquee event, and Benetti has to be in Miami on Sunday morning to do the Peacock MLB game.
