Esteban Santiago. Not the name I was expecting with this. Gonna make it harder for ISIS to claim this one.

Had military ID. Had arrest record while living in Alaska.
Checked gun in Canada Air .... loaded it in Florida. Fired. Did not try to kill himself, so I assume he is nuts or has something to say and wants people to hear it.

Nope. Wasn't on any Canadian air flights. Canadian Air just confirmed on Twitter

"Per AirCanada's official Twitter: "We confirm that we have NO RECORD of such a passanger by that name, or checked guns, on any of our flights to Fort Lauderdale."

This is an Islamic terrorist shooting

Didn't see that. Media isn't reporting it. But that means little.

I think he was just nuts. Like the ******* in Aurora.

Saw he flew from Alaska to Minnesota to Lauderdale. Emptied 3 clips and then fell to floor spread eagle waitin to be arrested. Surprised he didn't save last round for himself!

CNN reporting he was in an altercation with passengers on his flight. Sounds like this isn't terrorism, just your run of the mill blow-away-everyone-you-can-at-the-baggage-claim-because-you're-mad shooting.

You are allowed to transport firearms in checked bags.
Has to be in a locked case, unloaded. Declared at the ticket counter.
You can't have any loose ammo though.

well, I learned something then, did not know that. Guess I never thought about it though, just assumed you could not bring a gun on a plane

Well you can't take a ton of things on a plane that you can check at baggage claim.

Yea. Don't understand why he would fly that far to do this when he could of just walked into Anchorage airport and done the same thing.

Yup can take Smith & Wesson, just not Head & Shoulders.

I was looking into it, I thought I may have to travel across country alone and wanted to take a gun then fly back.

You are correct
I've not done it but know some who have
It's one gigantic hassle from what they said

Maybe on vacation and just snapped? There's some video of someone going stupid berzerk on the plane all the time.

Right.. Being on a plane has to be bottom 5 places to be.

"I'm SOOOO mad.. well, let me sit on a 5 hour flight with 14 inches of legroom and a screaming baby next to me.. then.. THEN I'll take out my anger!"

You know how you feel some ******* cuts line when you're trying to get off the plane or pushes the limit on the carry on because he's too cool or cheap to check a bag. Could have been the to recline or not recline. Maybe the person sitting next to him wanted both armrests. Sometimes you piss the wrong nut job off.

He found out the 72 virgins were male. He couldn't deal with the knowledge his suicide bomb-bros were getting jihaded in the boneyard

Have done it with longarms (shotgun) Must be in secure case with snapcaps in and NO ammo. Wasn't much of a problem. Sidearm maybe a different story for good reason.

Ah OK, not heard that yet.

Just going off what updates. May not be 100% confirmed. Apparent ISIS link.

"So @CBSNews has now visually confirmed our FIRST identification of #EstebanSantiago #FortLauderdale & his status as Islamic terrorist. CBS News ‏@CBSNews 24m24 minutes ago:

NEW: In Nov. 2016, FLL suspect walked into FBI office in Anchorage, claiming he was being forced to fight for ISIS, sources tell CBS News
