lmfao I love fast this post aged well especially with the “haha” Steward leaving is HUGE . I agree, Joey baker isn’t that necessary for success next year but you missed out on why he’s important... can you have a good basketball practice with 7-8 guys?Maybe in middle school but not at this level. We’re down to 8 scholarship players lol. You think the staff is going to find 5 high quality transfers and just mash them together? 😂. Oh and by the way hurts, baker and Williams still potentially may leave leaving the staff to scrounge for more players too. Hell if steward is leaving throw in Wendell as a possible early entry as well.

Keels is good but if you’re thinking he’s a guy that’s a zion , Barrett or bagley type of player you’re in for a rude awakening.

the staff has their work cut out for them next year. And the year after next looks DREADFUL
Keels can shoot and create his own shot. That’s what we need.

Keels may be an upgrade defensively. I'm not saying he will be better than a soph. DJ, but he could be as good as freshman DJ. Of course we don't have him yet either.

lmao okay yeah that’s all we needed for coach ks sixth title. Might not have ten scholarship guys on the roster but keels can shoot. Cancel the tourney duke 2021

I don't know if it's surprise, heat of the moment or just venting. But between here, DBR and Duke Forum I've read a lot of "I'm done with this" type posts. It's probably a combination of one and done fatigue, portal transfers and the crazy bad luck we've had the past two seasons. Plus the fact that we supposedly took our lumps this year to have guys back next year. We are are way, way, way, way, overdue for some good news.

No one has hardly seen that class play plus who knows what K is thinking.
Why isn’t Baker a Duke talent? K was lead recruiter for him. So if he’s at Duke someone on the coaching staff saw the talent.
They say he’s a real rough rider in practice. Can’t miss outside. Can put on the floor no one can guard him but then cone game time well we’ve all seen it

Good post. I know college bb has its issues obviously and I hope they work it out but take the UCLA Michigan the other night for example. I see those jerseys and I could watch it all night honestly. Such an amazing game

UCLA has their whole team back (Juzang may go pro) plus 2 top recruits. So yeah, they are ahead of us.

Our guard situation is so sketchy who isn’t? I don’t follow recruiting as closely as sone of you do but it’s hard to see us any better
Our whole roster is sketchy. Moore, Roach, Baker, Coleman, Williams, Banchero and Griffin. Assuming Hurt leaves thats our roster except for walk ons. Banchero and Williams are gonna be good sure but we have zero depth. Asking two huge guys to play 40 minutes every night isn't gonna work. If nothing else Brakefield and Tape provided bodies and fouls. Also, who's to say more don't dip out? I really and truly believed before the season ended that worst case scenario we would be a dangerous tourney team next year. Not sure that's the case anymore.

The lack of depth becomes even more problematic given the traditional annual foot injury we can expect sometime in December.

I wish that we would go after Marcus Carr, Adam Miller, or Matt Bradley. Carr was 1st Team BIG10 and Bradley was 2nd Team All Pac12.

It's a tricky situation. Keels is only a freshman but he's also a 5 star/ possible one and done. So does a transfer want to compete with that?

Yes but he has to be given more then three minutes in a game to become confident. In practice it’s five on five for atleast ten minutes I would guess. To me Baker is more scared about getting yanked then going care free and playing. Hopefully next season he grows some confidence during game play.

I think Baker has it in him to be a much better player. If I were his coach I would tell him if you don’t take 5 shots each game you will sit out the following 2 games. He would start looking for his shots.
