The young fans. UK has always been the choice out in the state and of about 50% of the youth in Louisville. But the young fans want someone to root for in in both sports. Our basketball dominance has resonated well with the African American youth in Louisville but I don't believe that will carry forever if we don't start playing football. We have to get serious, now - or risk all the younger fans pulling for Louisville. There's a lot at stake.

I get what you are saying. There is a lot more than just youth... also the bandwagon fans and it will take decades but it very well could happen. Especially if they always remain top 25 caliber in basketball. Things like that always take time... which is why its so dangerous.... the vast majority of people dont see it until its at your doorstep.

Mitch is concerned with Olympic sports. Let's allow him to get back to those sports. Everybody in America cares...

If we think it's bad now just wait until it's a decade from now and we've had another 10 years of Mitch's "leadership".

By that point Calipari is gone and Mitch will have hired a terrible basketball coach and a couple more coordinators as first time head football coaches. Louisville will have a stranglehold on the state because at that point they'll completely own literally every sport (besides rifle shooting and cheerleading). We'll be in such a hole at that point that it'll take decades to get the state back.
