Well, the great Ray Tanner's ability to hire great coaches has hit home again. First let me begin with Will Muschamp. We all know how that turned out, then of course Lamont Paris. We are seeing first-hand how that is developing. Absolutely disgraceful. Then of course USC did not have the money 12Million in athletic funds to pay the buyout for Muschamp. He had to get the money from the University. Was told the athletic department would pay the university back. If that ever happened no one really knows. Now Lamont Paris. We all see how that is unfolding while Tanner is sitting at home being paid as a consultant to the university for an annual salary of $800,000. Boy you think the US did a number on the Russians when Alaska was bought this falls in the same category. What a con artist Ray Tanner is. I just hope our new athletic director has someone in mind that will at least keep our basketball team competitive. I have been in the Gamecock Club for over 40 years and yes, I have decided to not to reenroll my Gamecock Club membership. I know they will not miss me. That is ok. USC has record enrollment for the past 3 years so yes, the new graduates will probably join the Gamecock Club. The latest the changes to Williams Brice Stadium will be for the rich and the elite to sit in their air-conditioned suites, drink wine, whiskey and have the best food that Gamecock Club members and season ticket holders pay for. Boy you talk about having the best of everything. Anyway, this is my opinion and that is all that is. This along with the purchase of Alaska from the Russians and the purchase of Louisiana for a handful of beads this is the category this falls in. What a con artist Ray Tanner is.

If the choice was to promote Ray to AD or see him retire as baseball coach or even go another school as coach then obviously Carolina would have been much better off if that had happened.
I know hindsight 20/20 and stating the obvious but fact is he is worst AD I know of.Mens athletic programs a complete disaster.

What also hurt Ray Tanner and the university would be the inclination to pour gas on the fire of his hires, when they immediately felt the need to extend or reward a coach after one good season.

Wait, is Paris done?

I missed where Paris being a bad coach went from delusions of the "fire everyone" crowd to finally admitting they were right and admitting he's taost.

My fault for not following Bball close enough, I guess.
