Great news for football.

Today was the lowest recorded deaths for a Monday since MARCH.

Yesterday was yet another record low Sunday since April for reporting COVID deaths. We stand at 243 with only a few smaller states left to report, previous low was 271. It has been several weeks since the protests/riots and still deaths are slowly going down.

Even the big case bumps in FL/TX havent resulted in any alarming increase in deaths and Florida has been breaking cases records (for its state) for almost 3 weeks now, but deaths remain steady.

Had a vacation planned for Pensacola from July 11-18th. Thinking it is a bit hopeless taking off from work at this point now though. Don't want to get down there and them close the beaches

deaths are a lagging indicator. The key is going to be the predominately young people being diagnosed not spreading it to those at risk. We won’t know the impact for the last three weeks for another month or so.

We have been hearing 2 more weeks for over 2 months. Deaths are lagging by 3-5 days since the start of this pandemic. Not 2-3 weeks. Cases are going up because we are testing more. Hospitals are still not overrun, even in Florida and Texas. Death rate is now lower than ever and the CDC says the true positive number of cases is 10x higher than actual confirmed. That makes the death rate at 0.5 percent or less. Media keeps pushing the narrative that there is this scary surge but hospitalizations and deaths are still declining nationally.

That is exactly what I was screaming in April when the teens and college students were populating the beaches in Florida.

The media are factually reporting what the public health community is telling us -- that the virus by no means contained. I believe the experts, not people with a political agenda trying to tell us that: it was well contained in February, that it's going to miraculously disappear, that hydroxychloroquine was going to be a miracle cure, and that we have more cases only because we have more testing.

Praying they don’t close anything else in Key West. I’m supposed to leave the 11th as well

That's cute that you don't think the media's reporting on this has been influenced by political agendas.

Everyone just needs to stay inside until kickoff. I don’t care about your vacation, if you got out for necessities wear a mask and wash your hands. Seems pretty easy to me but we will screw it up and lose football season.

So you’re saying people need to stay in and not go to work? Or basically do anything so it won’t ruin your football season? Did I read that right? If people have to stay in for a couple more months football season will be the least of anyone’s problems. Pretty much guarantee that

Oh and I guess even the people that don’t care a damn about football or basketball season should give up their lives so we can have football season.

All reporting is agenda driven, numbers are being inflated. If 3 people die from a traffic accident, being shot and old age in a hospital it will be reported as covid deaths so the hospital can pick up a few extra bucks.

Sure there are covid deaths but number padding is really going on

The death rate is closer to .003 (one 1 thousandth of 1 percent). The CDC the other day said its likely that 20 million Americans have been infected. Half of the deaths have been in nursing homes. So if you take out that half, about 65K have died. 65 divided by 20 million is about .003. This is the biggest election-year scam ever perpetrated, it's hurt my retirement savings and I'm livid.

More and more information coming in suggesting that the virus is mutating and becoming less lethal

I saw a report that it has indeed mutated because it wants to live and when it kills its host, it can't. So it mutates to be less lethal so it can keep on surviving.

Jesus Francis. Yeah, people should stay in. If they have to go out, wear a mask and wash their hands. Just like I said in my post. Not too hard.

Easy to get confused with percentages but .003 is 0.3 of one percent, not 1 thousandth of 1 percent. One thousandth of one percent is .00001 in regular numbers. 65 divided by 20 million is 65 over 20,000,000 or about 0.000003, not .003.

I voted the season gets delayed. They don't want the players paid but at some point the money will do the talking for the NCAA.

The Panhandle will not close the beach. Only the liberal counties in South Florida would think of doing that. Key West included.

Florida is testing 30,000 people every day. All nursing homes and their staff are tested every two weeks. Sure there will be more cases. Trust me Floridians are not worried and life is pretty much back to normal. I have company coming in over the 4th of July and our beach will be open.

Pretty apparent, but surprising how many people can't handle simple percentages.

And oh, that one thousandth would be 0.1 percent, lol.
0.1 is 1/10th of 1 percent. 1/1000th of 1 is .001. First digit to the left or right of the decimal is 10's, 2nd is 100's, 3rd is thousands.

Why can’t the OP post this in the thread devoted to Covid?

So why did you click on the thread? It obviously piqued your interest, otherwise you wouldn’t have clicked on it.

Go back to GYERO and post about something more interesting - like your daughter’s period or your farm animals.

Today was the least amount of reported COVID deaths for a Monday since mid-March.

It's interesting that most of the MSM headlines are stating # of new cases but they don't also state that hospitalizations and deaths have remained flat to decreasing for a few weeks now. Plus, at least in FL, the average age of a newly confirmed case is now down in the 30s where, unless there are extenuating other factors, the odds of survival are almost 100%.

Yes, I can no longer trust anything I see from the media. They get by with half-truths, then call out others for the very same thing.

They have been reporting about how Houston is at ICU capacity. Thing is, they had that problem pre-COVID and dont tell how many in the ICU are even COVID patients.
