But if you want to count Austin in your hot weather claim, they have had 2 days over 100 this July compared to 9-10 on average.

I haven't claimed that it's hotter than normal. I just said that this isn't all that unusual, when TJ talked about how cool it has been. I bet Austin and Dallas will get plenty of hot weather in August and September. Season creep.

Maybe, but so far it is a mild summer

The average age for a woman to get married in the 1930s was 21 and the average age for a girl to start puberty was 14. So 90 years ago it was not the norm for a grown man to date a child who would be in 6th or 7th grade. It is messed up.
That’s why today it is viewed as messed up. It used to be people would mind their own business regarding incest. That has also changed. Things change. I do not go back generations and apply what is viewed as wrong now versus what was viewed then. 21 being avg meant there were plenty beneath that age.

GIGO.

Try to use a reputable source for what you think is AI, NOT JUST DRIVEL !

How about actual articles? I used AI because that is what Best referenced. If you guys would leave this MAGA circle jerk and touch some grass every once in a while, you would realize this is already happening. You would think the GOP would be thinking of small business owners, and would be aware of this.

And you guys look at one mild summer and believe that it shows humans are not impacting the planet, at all. It’s all so stupid.

It would be great if we could get the left to shelf the idea of “global warming” and the right to shelf the idea that we have no impact at all. Then we could start talking about the things that actually matter.

Home Depot and other big box stores don’t mind the tariffs. They can absorb costs and/or pass along small increases to the consumer. Their small business competitors don’t have the volume, so they have to make tough decisions. And it’s one more variable they have to consider when forecasting.

Big box stores love what this is doing to their local and regional shop competition.

I am not sure why you are posting in a hostile way today. I don't even know what the debate is between you and TJ, but posted in my part of Texas, it has been a mild summer(which is true). Now that you appear to have locked arms with 7 name Chuck and Stoned, you are attacking the people that don't hate Trump. Congrats!

Being a man of the masses, you would prefer buying Velveeta, Boone's Farm wine, Chinese Crocs and Vietnamese clothes from Walmart.
While I may have Vietnamese made clothes (don't really know), you of all people should know that good wine is very cheap these days (Sam's Club, Wal-Mart). Velveeta - like their mac and cheese for sure. Crocs? Nope.

Haha, he is railing against big-box stores. The extended closures during COVID by DEMOCRAT governors harmed small business more than any other recent event. The issue is of such importance to him, that he sat out the last election. Hilarious that he ignores that GDP was 33 higher than the experts suggested, consumer confidence is higher than expected, tariff revenue is much higher than expected, and inflation is UNDER 2 percent.

He has been wrong on everything yet continues to whine due to his mental illness.

Squishy is all talk.

This is the perfect SQUISH answer. I, squishy, am a man of the middle - I want the left and right to both be good. Meanwhile I refuse to take a stand.

Squishy now says this summer is mild after arguing that it was "normal" for Dallas to not have a 100-degree day until late July. Can't make it up.

The underwater Tonga volcano made the last 2 summers really hot. As for the Climate Scam - zero worries for me about it killing me or submerging Jeff & Stoney. With Ryno's death, everyone should be reminded that you will be killed by something that is possibly detected with an easy test. Focus on the things you can control.

Look Rill, finding articles blaming Trump for any negatives will be an easy task right now. We all know that the majority of journalist are carrying water for the Dems.

For us wine lovers, I know that my wine pricing is way down. Does Trump get credit? No, because he didn't do anything to lower the prices of any one single commodity.

My chosen coffee is cheaper than it used to be. Apparently, yours is more expensive. Change coffee brands?

There will be some eb and flow with product pricing. That will settle in, but meanwhile we could not sustain status quo of adding 2 trillion in debt per year. Something has to change and there may or may not be some pain as the changes come. It was never gonna be free to fix an issue this big.

He comes up with willful misrepresentation arguments. Humans do impact the planet. Duh! We haven’t warmed it. Climate change is a scam, even said by the founder of Green Peace. We believe in conservation. Heck the human climate change morons are complaining about CO2. Plants, trees love CO2, which gives us the oxygen we need to breathe. Also forecasts have been wrong about population growth. It’s capping out by 2080. Minds that aren’t strong listen to nonsense and let it creep in.

It happens my coffee of choice is imported, not just the beans themselves, but the roasting and packaging is done ex-US. Just bought some this morning for the same price I was paying in 2024 when I first started buying it. For those that want tariff-free coffee, Kauai coffee is available.

For differing reasons I buy an amount of food imported from Europe. It already costs more than the domestic equivalents, typically by 40%-100%. 15% added on top really isn't going to matter. If you're going to truly suffer financially because your gourmet imported Brie is going to cost a couple bucks more per pound, you might be better off overall going for a domestic option even before the tariff. I also find it interesting that people who generally want to see more taxation of Americans get squeamish when their luxury/status items get taxed a little. I am no fan of taxes, was 100% supportive of the extension of the 2017 tax structure in the BBB. But I don't mind a voluntary tax getting added to my bill when I occasionally reach for a top-shelf import. I can avoid the additional tax by buying American.

Completely agree. That’s why my initial point was I want to give it about a year. Some things are up, some things are undoubtably down.

I think the good has been better than the bad, so far. I’ll take cheaper gas, less crime, etc. and deal with some higher priced coffee.

Very good argument, and I appreciate it. I told my wife the same thing, buy the store brand or something local.

I’m certainly not in the boat saying we should raise taxes on Americans.

It’s amazing someone can respond like this instead of dropping goofy names and insults. You and Best are about the only ones left.

DJPC is correct on the Hawaiian coffee. Man, that stuff is great!

Looking like the "experts" were wrong again. Two very good signs:

It is not luxury, status items it is all imported from countries that have had tariffs imposed. Your view is tilted. Pharmaceuticals are not luxury, they are necessities, medical equipment is not a luxury or status it is a necessity, Certain items we don't /can't grow in US, coffee, tea, spices, types of fruit. You can twist facts to support Trump's tariffs, but you look foolish doing so.

It's a choice Stone, and you choose to live well. Nothing wrong with that.

You also act as though everything will remain the same with the exception of tariff level. Way too simplistic. Do yourself a favor and think independently rather than as the cult member of MSNBC/CNN/FakeNews that you are.

Behavior modification - companies will invest in the US, shift production, and lower costs to US as Trump is demanding. Here is a REAL-WORLD example as published on MSN - one of your sources.

Trump's tariffs are awesome, and a bunch of idiot rich liberals are complaining about them AS they benefit enormously from them.

You are engaging in simplistic think full of false hoods so you can say- buy American. Again I don't buy top shelf or staus goods. Can't afford to with the rest of the groceries increasing in cost. Coffee comes from overseas, I think 70% from Colombia which has a super tariff. Tropical fruits of course come from the tropics. Bananas aren't top shelf. Pharmaceuticals and medical equipment come from Europe. My wine from Italy or Spain wasn't any more than from California, actually typically less expensive. Leather goods come largely from Spain or Italy, not because they are luxury, but because that is where the industry is. I guess I can buy them from Mexico or China, but those have higher tariffs. Your simplistic thinking is nonsensical. Tariffs are disastrous and always have been for America.

Inflation came in at 2 percent today, lower than the 2.2 percent forecast. GDP growth came in at 3.0, well above the expert's 2.3 percent.

I don't drink coffee, so I have sympathy for those who brew their own - not the Starbucks' zombies who love overpaying.

Did you complain when old Joe had inflation OVER 9 percent? That was across the board suckage. 2 percent is just about perfect.

Tariffs and the threat of tariffs has been a BOON for the USA. Trillions is being invested into the USA. Manufacturing is booming. Even with all your modern-day slaves being exported and many in hiding, inflation is still just 2 percent.

The tariffs and threat of tariffs are working wonders which we can all be proud of. After all, 4 months ago I was told we would be in a deep recession on August 1st with a contracting economy and hyperinflation.

You, Squsihy, Jay Powell and disgusting Icky are the only unhappy ones left after Jeff left your campsite.
