THR always says that Roy refuses to deal with handlers.Did anyone see the picture of Brice at the draft?I n the background there is a guy named Dion Bethea. He is the one in the bowtie. He was partners with Brian Clifton of John Wall fame.Dion coached Brice inAAU BASKETBALL and was his adviser throughout his recruitment The story was that Roy did not do business with any handler which has lead to their recruiting misses.Dion is one of the big AAU guys in SC who will coaching Jalek Felton next year. Perhaps they should change their narrative to Roy only deals with handlers that is pro UNC.

hof coach roy williams knows nothing, sees nothing hears nothing. hof coach roy williams has his own handlers to handle situation like that. If you don't believe it just ask hof coach roy williams as see what he tells you. OFC

UNC is actually okay with handlers as long as they encourage their player to stay multiple years in college. I mean, UNC has a very nice track-record with staying away from the handlers that want their guys in the NBA asap. Look at all the OADs drafted since 2008:

Kentucky 17
Kansas 7
Duke 7
UCLA 5
Arizona 4
Texas 4
Ohio State 4
Syracuse 3
Memphis 3
Kansas State 3
Southern California 3
Indiana 2
UNLV 2
LSU 2
NC State 2
Texas A&M 1
Georgia Tech 1
Marshall 1
Cincinnati 1
Oklahoma 1
Tennessee 1
Florida 1
Uconn 1
St.John's 1
Washington 1
Baylor 1
Pittsburgh 1
Providence 1
California 1
Marquette 1
Florida State 1
Michigan State 1
Maryland 1

Total: 86

UNC doesn't have any OADs in this time period, and that's because they've made an unofficial behind-the-doors agreement with their handlers to let the kids stay a minimum of two years. Pretty good idea, Roy.

That list is absolutely insane. Ya kiddin' me?! unx...a so-called "blue-blood" school ala Duke , UK , KU etc...hasn't produced even a single OAD in close to TEN years?! Look , it's not Roy's ( or K's or Cal's or Self's... ) responsibility to be a minor league trainer for the NBA but recruits look at this stuff and notice. Heck , I'd be fine if the NBA would expand their D-League ( or whatever ) and allow kids to go straight to the league. It's worked just fine in baseball for a hundred years but I digress. Let colleges have the 4-year kids. But , again , I digress. Anyway , for better or worse , having a coach that can put you on a team with other elites , allow ya to display your strengths , give ya a shot at a title then get ya to the league expeditiously is how it works these days. It's not happenin' with Roy and by his own admission he's recruiting the exact same kids that K and Cal are. He's been fond of blaming his failures on all that scandal "junk." That's part of it. Sure. But it's his track record of keeping elite players longer that's doin' the most damage. For example , Jackson & Pinson were Top 15 players in 2014. They're the ONLY 2 from that group still in school. Hicks was Top 15 in 2013. He and Kasey Hill are the only 2 players from that group still in college. IOW , only 4 of those 30 players remain in school and THREE of 'em are Roy's. THAT'S his problem not the "junk."

One more year til we reach 10 years for UNC without a OAD. It's possible Bradley could, but I'm not expecting it. Especially considering some at THR are saying that from the couple of scrimmages so far this summer, Luke Maye appears to be a little ahead of Tony Bradley at this point.

UNCheat players are not OAD because they know that 3 or more years with HOF Coach Williams and UNC education will better prepare them and set them up for life. So Calipari was not really talking about K, but about Ole Roy.

Was listening to the Duke Basketball Report podcast last night, and they brought up an interesting point regarding Barnes and the Olympic team. They pointed out how ironic it would be if Barnes made a gigantic jump in his game after playing this summer under Coach K (similar to Curry, Westbrook, and others). Basically, they were saying how hilarious it would be if Barnes is that much better after one summer with Coach K as opposed to two years under Roy.

And if it happens, its not like Roy should be surprised.....

He gives the people what they want. We have nothing to criticize except UNC.

Right on!! If Devil DJ's scores go in opposite direction, then I would have cause for concern...Its nice having someone keep tabs on two decades worth of shenanigans at one of your chief rivals, in this case "the school from Chapel Hill"

Side bar here without starting a new thread but if you look at it this way that unc , wussy blue or whatever they choose to call it is really just a faded Duke Blue or just a weak version of it. Maybe that's why they are beginning to use Navy Blue as part of their color scheme now. And always remember this. That ain't tar on those heels either. :DOFC

Yeah, since High Point regional became part of the UNC system, the tee shirts at the fitness center are all faded blue now. Glad I have plenty of the old ones.

UNC set to respond to amended Notice of Allegations

I'm sure the flagship will bare its soul and 'fess up to multiple decades of fraud in their response. This was amusing...

IOW , like all of unx's correspondence with the NCAA it'll be scrubbed and redacted to death. #carolinaway...

Didn't DBR have something on this a couple of weeks ago that said the investigation was over with no fault being found?

Dunno. The ANOA removed football and men's basketball while shortening the original time-frame. Maybe that's what the DBR was referring to. Obviously , the 10 mill+ that the holes have spent on legal fees and PR did the job. The LOIC charge still stands but unless unx redacted and/or refused to release any damning info from the ANOA , it looks like they may have dodged a bullet. They have until this Monday to submit their response. Then , the COI has 60 days to deliver a verdict. Kinda odd that a school professing a desire to "move forward" would take the entire 90 days to respond once they received that grab-azz ANOA. They bought a wristslap so go ahead and respond. Get it over with sooner rather than later. Maybe the delay was intentional. Cosmetic. Give the impression that 2 scumbag entities DIDN'T cut a deal? Who knows? Just as an aside...think about what the unx Ram's Clubbers coulda done with 10 million dollars...MORE than 10 million actually. They chose to use it in the service of protecting some coaches , some athletic teams and some ill-gotten wins. I've disliked unx forever ( what's to like?) and I woulda SAID they would display this kinda depravity if they ever faced this type of scandal. I wouldn't have actually BELIEVED it though. Now that they've dealt with it , I've been consistently shocked at exactly the depths unx has been willing to plunge to in an effort to salvage some ball games. unx is a minor league sports franchise and why not? The NCAA has no interest in sanctioning them , they're protected by an in-state multi-tiered "good ol' boy network" and given their representation in NC media and politics , why change?

UNC posters who understand there is still a huge stain on their university and don't come over here and act like 12 year olds .....all of them but 3.
UNC guys are constantly busting on me about FSU & I look at them in amazement. They truly believe their university has never done anything wrong. If you guys win it all this upcoming season, the baby blue cult may experience simultaneous coronary attacks.

The ones I've interacted with on the net , for the most part , are true-blue carolina way devotees. Point the dirty end of the stick at other schools as if unx wasn't in a league of their own , scandal-wise. The ones I know personally , have the "everybody does it" rationale. They know unx cheated and they know WHY they did it but they really don't care because , as I said , they believe such corruption is to be expected. "But what about all that holier-than-thou carolina way hypocrisy you guys used to preach?" They never really have an answer for that one other than to shrug and say , "Meh. Some spoke about that but I never said it. I never believed it." Also , because they tend to get all their info from only each other , some are really not aware of much of it. "Wasn't that all just football and Butch Davis?" #LifeInTheBubble

yep, we had two disgraces , after investigations, released in the same month. The NCAA , like the FBI , is a joke.
