Gameday has gone to plenty of non abc games. It went to the sec title game because there were actually ramifications to the outcome. The big ten title game outcome has zero effect on the playoff. Both teams will get a bye.

Right. A little bit of comprehension would show that we have 3rd ranked Georgia sec champion and then the winner of the big ten is two clear cut deserving teams. They should play a game. Winner is the national champion. The playoff removes the importance of this game (big ten title game). Not sure what you don’t understand?
Strength of schedule would be my main argument but I concede that tech has an argument. There aren’t 9 more that do have an argument.
Big 10 title game is pointless anyway. We know who the best teams are...let them play in the playoffs. Sure, the games today are duds but that is because of realignment and the fact title games are redundant. Just another reason the playoffs are so good, we don't need a conference title game to decide anything.
If we still had a single game to decide the champion, the big ten title game would be a defective playoff game. Winner gets Georgia. You don’t think that would add intrigue to this game?
What is the point you’re making? Because nothing can happen in this game to make it more relevant. It’s a completely meaningless game in terms of the national championship.

The reason the playoff exists is because it would not be fair to punish the loser of the Indiana and OSU game. Basically losing by 3 to the next best team in the country means you should just play them again in the national title.
What? Punish? It’s December. If you lose; you should be out. Games should have consequences; otherwise why play them? Why should Indiana have to beat them twice? They just beat them. Case settled. Why does Ohio state deserve a mulligan?
Georgia has a loss. There are 2 other one loss teams that have a legitimate argument of being bette than them. You totally dismissed Indiana mid game. I think we won't trust your capability in deciding what teams deserve what.
I said in the same post if Indiana wins then it would be Indiana vs Georgia. The point was that the big ten title game should have been a winner take all. Not a meaningless feel good exhibition. Yeah I thought OSU was going to win. Got it wrong. But the point remains the same.

You’re not making the point you think you are. Having a game be fun to watch is not the same as having a high stakes game. Which was my point. We’re not arguing the same thing. We want different things from the sport. It’s cool. You love participation trophies. I want every big game to matter in the race for a title.
I'm right with you. Just don't play the championship games. Add four more playoff teams and start the playoffs a week early. This is a new era of football with transfers, opt outs and lack of depth. A top 16 has a chance if there is a qb injury or a couple dlineman go down on the better teams. There isn't limitless depth like 10 years ago.
