Ansley is one of my favorite Cats on this team. Dude absolutely deserves to be here, and I hope he feels nothing but love from our fanbase. I hope we get some background on him at some point, because I don't think he quite understands the support system he has behind him just yet.

That's all. I hope BBN shows him plenty of love.

Yep, I loved his comments. I posted in the other thread with the post-game interviews about his comments around the 9 minute mark of the video where he just had these amazing comments about the goal being to win #9. It wasn't just the usual cliche comments. You could tell he really meant it. Spoke about it with a true passion and intent.

Almonor absolutely BELONGS with this team. I make no bones about it!

Love him ! Next to Oweh, I have to say he has become.... My favorite two players on this team.

And gosh, I hate to have to say that because ALL of them, every single one .... Is THAT important to me.

Just my two cents worth on the young man ! I'm so freaking happy he's here!

Go Big Blue !

I don't think you need say anything else about the difference between the previous coach and Coach Pope.

I love that kid, he’s awesome. I hope he gets even more minutes because he can flat out shoot the rock too.

I agree with what you’ve said and I think he should play more. He has only played 64 minutes in 5 games.

Give me 5 minutes of Carr at 5, Almonor at the four, with Robinson at the 3, Oweh at the 2, Butler at the 1. See how it works.
I like it or I want Brea where Robinson is at. Both play similar but Brea is a little better at this point I think. I am talking about the slimmest of margins.

Awesome to read that from Almonor. This team is hungry, humble, and appreciative. You can't really manufacture that. It's always been there. Add a coach with those same attributes? Something good is cooking. Pope did a great job of getting great people to play for us.

Almonor has been a pleasant surprise! His TS% is almost 70. If he maintains that, he should continue to figure into the rotation.

The thing about Ansley Almonor, that I've noticed, is the guy just makes the right play every time. He's clearly intelligent, and humble to boot.

He'll find out as time goes on how much this great commonwealth appreciates him as well.

He the guy who is not athletic.
I realize he is 6'7, but he's not fast, he doesn't jump particularly high.
BUT, he is really good at basketball.
Smart, tries hard, makes the right play.
Bball players > athletes.
He is also genuinely proud to be here.
💥💥💥💥 winning!

I agree, he is one of my favorites this year too. I love it when he enters the game as he brings so much energy and is just a positive force. Now to read this quote, how can you not be a fan.

He not only has textbook form on his jump shot, he does make a good number of them and when he shoots, we all should get the feeling it is going in. He also brings -- much like our entire team -- a toughness and savvy about the game that will bode well for his only season here. We need every positive contribution he can make. Along with being an elite shooter, I think he should be challenged to become a rebounding force. With his body, he could be an Oscar Tschiebwe lite, at least as a rebounder. Defensively, he is very solid and I am always glad to see him enter a game. You will probably also agree that there is something about him that draws us to him, that makes us want him to do well just because -- more than other reasons -- he does appreciate being here. Reading his words laced with a humility that some people, like Calipari for example, can never know, is super refreshing and makes you want to root for him even more. He is another valuable piece on this team, worthy of binge watching, and I am drawn to him even more now like many of you. With some people in life, you just feel more chemistry and affection -- I'm certainly glad he chose us to close out his collegiate career. Interestingly, Ansley and all of these guys have an "Unforgettables" vibe with compelling stories on who they are and how they have found their way here.
