For the third time in an 11-month span, one of the top basketball prospects in the high school senior class is taking a trip to Lexington. Starting Wednesday, five-star small forward Anthony Thompson will be taking yet another recruiting visit to Mark Pope and the Wildcats. Thompson was previously in town on two landmark occasions during Pope’s first season as the UK head coach. His first visit to Kentucky came last October for Big Blue Madness, the major season-preview event that included the Rupp Arena return of former UK coach Rick Pitino and Pope’s first chance to show his brand-new 2024-25 team to fans. That visit is when UK offered a scholarship to Thompson.

That's a strange time for an official visit. It being in the middle of the week.

Seems like we are in with several small forward guys. It will be interesting to see how Pope manages this. There is Stokes, Thompson, Collins, Howard and Adams that all appear to have genuine interest in UK.

Honestly, this recruiting stuff isn’t worth paying attention to. Even if high school guys commit, it means very little. They could change their minds.

i don’t pay any attention to it now. Pope doesn’t need a loaded roster like the previous Coach.

Pope will get players that fit exactly what he wants. Just solid players, not just athletes with 5 stars. That doesn’t work well.

Wake me up when the final roster is set.

Yeah, if Stokes dings us we should still be in good shape.

If he’s ready to commit you have to take him and still go all out with Stokes. Both can play major minutes next year.
Dont know if Kentucky leads for Thompson

To be honest, I love Thompson even more than Stokes. He is my most wanted player in this class

He looks like solid 6-9 in photo with Pope, and he is athletic, he can shoot well. He will be great player in day 1

Some national analyst says OSU, Indiana, Michigan are leading and Kentucky is probably behind

I don't know if it is true

Do you know how the Thompson visit goes?
Saw some good things on a discord that usually has good info. No clue if we’ll get him but seems we’re in a good spot.
