Any chance we redshirt Blake Bone?

Just wondering since he's 3rd on the recent depth chart and he already has Badet, Richardson and Ross (who has already used his RS so he will play) at his position. Plus he's a Jr and we lose like 6 receivers after next year so it would be a good idea to space them out.

No but I expect 1 wr to transfer next spring. You look at the #s and attrition is going to happen and wr seems like the spot. He's either going to sink or swim. Too many fr and soph that the staff likes and 3 or 4 freshmen coming in. I think Montgomery will be the guy because of injury.

I don't see any benefit in redshirting a player who has dropped like that on the depth chart. You are better off graduating him ASAP, so you can use that scholarship for someone else.

He could benefit from the strength side of things. Guy not strong enough to get of press coverage from SEC DBs.

Blake Bone seemingly just needs to play with a bit more meanness. He just has to want it a bit more, IMO. He needs to be a big tougher and play like every ball thrown is his ball and no one else can take it from him. If he does that, then he should be much better off with his body size.

He has already had 2 full years of collegiate strength training, and if he is still not "strong enough" as a receiver, then it shows his (lack of) personal commitment to being in the gym.

Blake was out most of spring because of injury. He could pass Richardson up if he is healthy.

The most recent depth chart was Badet, Richardson, Bone and Ross. Maybe the deepest position on the team.

Hope so, certainly are needed, but I'd remind you that Richardson and Ross are yet to play a down of SEC football.

I'd love to RS Bone...but the likely scenario is he wins his spot back behind Badet or transfers...but I personally love his length if we can just get a bit more strength to fight for balls.

Yes, correct, but from all reports they are going to play a bunch of downs before they leave.

Wide receiver is a position where you use a lot of players, unless you have 2 or 3 all stars on your team....

I don't think Bones strength is as big an issue as his quickness. He has put on over 30 pounds since his arrival. He just gets very little seperation.

Agree with other poster. He either works harder to get or snaps or he will prob transfer. You don't RS a JR because he can't get enough snaps. Our WR depth chart is very solid.

I don't believe the kid has been used correctly on the field. Hopefully this staff and Barker get his talents going.

He has great height and very good hands. I agree that his problem is quickness and speed. He struggles to get open.

Maybe so but strictly use him as your jump ball, goal line WR. He has a great vertical and good hands.

I agree with you. The issue is we have several tall long wr that may just be better. Ross Richardson Greenwood Baker all are long and just stronger options up to this point. Bones a solid guy and could be a role player but he will never be top 3 on a good wr Corp imo.
