Any movies this summer worth looking forward to?

Since I rarely watch network TV and therefore avoid 95% of commercials, I don't know what big blockbuster/highly anticipated movies will be released this summer. Any suggestions? I'm definitely going to see a few movies in a theater this year after I get vaccinated. Miss the experience. Will also find a few concerts to attend.

New bond movie, new top gun movie, new ghostbusters movie

Bond - probably.
Top Gun - seriously? That was a cheeseball, sh!tty movie decades ago.
Ghostbusters - didn't the last 'sequel' pretty much kill that franchise?

I hope, after all this time, we're given a lot better 'blockbuster' choices than those last 2. That's pitiful, if so. I do like most/all of the Bond movies so I'll give that one my money.

the new Top Gun movie looks awesome. They sent the actors up in fighter jets and IMAX cameras. It could suck but the previews look great.

The new Ghostbusters movie will feature the original cast as themselves (minus Egon/harlold ramis) and the previews look good. I never watched the all woman version. Also the original directors son directed this movie.

I'm definitely seeing Godzilla vs. King Kong, Dune, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife. I might check out BIOS too.

Sounds like all Hollywood has these days is remakes and sequels.

Some good original stuff's coming out soon: Shiva Baby, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, BIOS, Luca, Respect, and The Eyes of Tammy Faye, among other things.

It's not that Hollywood doesn't make original content. It's that Americans won't watch. None of those movies will make a dime
Yeah Americans want easily digestible junk like Disney, Marvel, Transformers, random action movies, and terrible comedies. You know basically stuff with little to no artistic value or meaning, just instant gratification junk.

Where‘s the next Godfather series, or Tolkien series, or Indiana Jones series, or Harry Potter series, or a host of other movie ventures that were original instead of sequels maxe from other creations ... need some more originality in Hollywood.

The 90's. The last great decade for movies.

when I go to the movie theatre I’m looking for instant gratification to entertain me for two hours. If I want artistic value or meaning I’ll go to a museum or read a book. Or watch it when it comes available for home viewing.

Gonna sticky this thread so I know what to pirate.

But honestly.. I can't think of anything I really want to see, outside of the Horror Genre.

The new James Bond looks good though. I really enjoyed all the D. Craig ones, TBH. Those last few Pierce Brosnan ones were terrible.

That makes better sense. Thanks.

They're all series on Netflix. The movie theatre business is garbage. TV has far surpassed the movies for entertainment and originality IMO.

People work their asses off and want some light-hearted stuff that makes them feel good. Dark comedies and dystopian dramas are in abundance; many of us miss good ol’ American sitcoms.

I’m think and I know (literally) ONE movie coming out in 2021 - Kong vs Godzilla only because our son is having some friends over along with a couple of other coaches from our team to watch it. Man, I’ve seriously cut out the media in my life that I don’t know if any movies coming out, lol

You may or may not be aware but Amazon Prime purchased the rights to the Lord of the RIngs franchise with a multi season commitment and are working on the first season with an anticipated release sometime in 2021. The 1st season is expected to be 8 episodes and it will be set in the 2nd age of Middle Earth which will be thousands of years before The Hobbit.
