i know a guy that used to take 5 Aleve’s to play a round. Dead now I would guess.
I have had back pain for sometlime. I have taken the shot and the medication. Done physical therapy and the pain would go away. In November 2020 it started and didn’t get better. I did therapy and even did the lumbar shots. Nothing helped. Next step was surgery but the Doctor in Nashville wanted to hold off. Instead he put me on that dosage of ibuprofen 3 times a day. Started taking 3, went to 2 and now it’s just when needed. Worked for me.

Very nice! I guess this thread has gone sideways a bit. I am not crawling around, just very stiff in the mornings. It's all muscular and I just need to be more proactive. Looks like putting the cushion between the knees will be a huge step forward. I'm glad you are better and weening off the Advil and back to playing !

2 handicap on courses with an average slope of 140 and distances of 6800-7000 yards. Routinely shoot under 80. It’s the 7 mile walk that hurts the back. Got an MGI ZIP Navigator A/T and love the exercise. The A/T (all terrain) is the newest version and is much better than the stock Navigator.
False. All of it.

Just looked at your post history. You're nasty to everybody, so I won't think much of it.

Though I do feel for people like you that are a) miserable and nasty b) unable to get through a round of golf without losing 74 balls and c) too cheap to pony up the 60$ for a Costo card that allows you to go on Costco.com to order the MGI ZIP.

Try not to kick the neighbor's puppy again today.

I feel sorry for people like you that obviously have to make up stories on the internet to impress strangers.

No pal. I never would have said a word until the guy said "have fun hacking it up on the course". I never said a single word about my game until then. I feel bad for you. Your entire posting history wreaks of misery. Send me the address to your trailer park and I'll send you the Costco receipt. That's all you get. You hide behind your computer and try to spread your misery but it won't work with me little man.

This thread was very productive and had good conversation......and then you decided to try and spread your nastiness. Any POS that calls a woman a "c**t" might as well announce that they are a horrible human being. Have fun living in that skin, nobody else would. Consider yourself Ignored and dead.

I think you're looking for the transgender athlete thread. All the hormones are probably giving you the back pain.

Have to agree. A 2 handicap doesn’t say he regularly breaks 80.
Actually, what he said makes perfect sense. I doubt you and Tommy boy have ever seen a course with a slope of 140, let alone played one. If you consistently shoot around 78 on a slope of 140, that's about a 2 handicap. That’s an extremely difficult golf course. He'd likely be a +2 handicap on the rinkyndink courses you play. The jealously of @tommyg4uk is funny. No doubt he's an uncoordinated goof and not happy about it.

Played a 140 two weeks ago, FYI. You choose to believe he’s a 2 handicapper, I choose to believe he’s not. Simple.

So you just made this account today to agree with your post about being a 2 handicap...because no one else believed you?

What a loser.

So you feel sorry for yourself, by your very own definition, by making up the story that an internet stranger is not a 2 handicap on hard courses and don't own a golf trolly that any schmuck can buy if they have a Costco card.

But we know the truth.........you suck at golf and can't afford the trolly or such a meaningless post would not have triggered you or @UKGrad83.

I like you bragging about your Armani shoes, nice watch and clothes, etc. on the Gyero thread not even 10 days ago.......to try and impress internet strangers. Rules for thee but not for me. Are you Liberal? Seems so.

This was a great thread with suggestions from various users that solved a problem, even a moderator helped. Then two infants showed up and got triggered by someone else's success/happiness.

Have fun running around New York in your hoodie trying to convince others that you're anything but a 38 year old Fake Internet Toughguy. Feel free to have the last word. Since I wouldn't spit a yellow Loogy on you if you were on fire, I won't even read it.

"Triggered" says the guy who created a new account to defend his other braggadocio posts. Typical libtard. LOL!

The other account was banned, probably for addressing your girlfriend Tommy's use of the word "cu*t." Only a lowlife uses that word. But it's even worse for you. By your screen name, you're at least 60 years old. A post that should mean nothing to you got your so triggered that you had to say "nope, didn't happen." Knowing it is 100% true and knowing it triggered both you makes it that more satisfying. :). You should both move over to the disc golf thread........I heard they were looking for caddies. [roll]

Thanks for the laughs. Mods. feel free to ban this one as well. Adults such as these two dweebs acting like little girls does nothing for me.

Okay bud, it's been fun watching you melt down. Feel free to take your 2 handicap and your overpriced "zippy" back to your swanky golf courses.

4 iron 200. Driver 285-290. Carry 4 wedges as distance is not a problem. I've shot a legit 74 on Torrey Pines South twice from the back tees that they allow amateurs to play which is about 7100 yards, though both rounds required several up and downs out of bunkers so they were definitely "career rounds". You have to get permission to go way back and play the tees where they play the US open, so I haven't played those. No rolling the ball, no fluffing it up in the rough. You're barking up the wrong tree, my friend. I'm not going to get into a pissing match with a-holes that don't even know me and are trying to dismiss a stranger. I have no problem with you, but your buddy Tommy is a grade-A scmuck. Have a nice night.

False, again. I replied to someone making up golf stories then you chime in with some fantasy world you created while you were probably looking around the gas station parking lot for your next $20. Get some help, dude.

I mentioned earlier I gave up golf. I've played since I was a kid, played in highschool etc. It wasn't easy and I miss it considerably. But golf is horrible for the back because of the torque it puts on the back during the swing.
Tiger Woods is one of the most physically fit golfers of all time and has access to the best medical, training, etc. And he has had like 5 back surgeries.

I do know several players who have had success with shortening their swing a little bit. Enough that it has allowed them to keep playing. The longer the back swing, the more torque.
This exactly. I had back surgery in 1994. I was an avid golfer at the time (played twice a month year round). After surgery I gave up golf for a couple years. But eventually I started back playing again. I did however have to shorten my swing. It felt very awkward at first. Made me feel like I should’ve been playing in a Senior league, even though I wasn’t even 35 at the time. But it allowed me to continue to play, and actually eventually made me a straighter driver from the tees. I traded length for accuracy. Bottom line is, if you have back issues, you were likely born with it, and Father Time is still undefeated. You adjust to him. He doesn’t adjust to you.

Much thanks to several of you, 4 straight days of using the Tempurpedic cushion to keep the knees apart while I side sleep. Played golf yesterday and for the first time time in ages, I didn't get miserably stiff on the back 9. Also got a LaCross ball yesterday and the Mebak massage gun two days ago and am very happy with both.

I had lower back pain with a 4” mattress topper. Removing the mattress topper eliminated the back pain. A more firm bed is what I needed.

I believe tiger's back pain was a combination of factors primarily being whores and beefing up like a body builder, most likely to try and impress the whores.

And some of you seem content to trade in back pain for kidney failure.

All kidding aside back pain is no joke. And much of the time seems like a crap shoot to diagnose. No simple solutions

Good luck to those dealing. It can make life miserable.

Thanks for this thread I am 44 have had lower back pain for about a year nothing terrible just stiffness. Had tried several different things including chiro with mixed results. The tempurpedic pillow between the legs helped much more than anything. Bought the special cushion on Amazon but regular temp pillow is more comfy.

Went to my Chiro today for a regular adjustment. I had slight lower left back pain and I happened to skip the pillow-leg trick we've been talking about. Sure enough, he does the same thing and said that if he doesn't do it for a few days, he'll start to feel it too.

I forgot that he sometimes puts me in this horrific contraption every now and then. It's basically similar to those ancient torture devices that push a piston into the back of your neck. Same concept. You lie on your back in this head contraption that corrects the curve in your neck by pushing up on your neck muscles. 20 minutes, and your body starts to tingle towards the end, feeling like you're gonna pass out. But it helps. Still ******* hate it tho.

Also remember to be mindful of posture. No slumping or slouching. Don't rest on one side of your office chair's arm rest. Avoid seating that you "sink" into to. I mention these because they've all bitten me before.

So I believe it's under the knees if you're on your back (haven't done this, personally), but it's between your knees if it's on your side.

You can always buy a product for this, and the one below is a common style that makes it so that both legs are aligned better, but I'f never had the need for this. The pillow between the knees on my side is enough to keep that top leg positioned correctly and not "sagging".

I've tried that one before. Problem is, it's too targeted and too small. I end up waking up and having to reposition it.

Now I use a memory foam pillow and it doesn't collapse, and it's big enough to stay in place.

I pretty much don’t practice anymore and often don’t warm up because I only have so many swings in me. Slept with that cushion between my legs last night and it’s like night and day. No pain today. My concern was that I would toss and turn and it wouldn’t stay in place but that didn’t happen. Will keep at it and really start stretching the hamstrings each day. No way I’m giving up golf. Zero chance.
Gary Player has a youtube video where he talks about golf practice swing drills where you swing twice as many times on the wrong side (left for most people) to even out the torque on your back. It's a really good video.

Honestly makes perfect sense. For anyone that's ever shoveled snow.. or raked leaves.. you also use your dominant hand, and what happens after an hour? Pain on one side (at least for me).
