DW has Meniere's. Eight years now. Lost half or more hearing in right hear. Also has noise & pressure in it. The degree of those come & go. Also has/had vertigo with it. Not too much these days. Was worst the first two years or so. I can't tell how bad she is at any moment. What we both notice is she often can't tell where an extraneous sound is coming from or what it is. Misses low volume, higher frequency sounds. This time about a year ago I went to the doc to complain about Tinnitus and a year later I am told I have that and Ménière's disease. Have practically gone deaf in my left ear in 12 months and still have Tinnitus. They tell me there is no cure.
Yes I have all of that. Am hoping I am going thru the worst of it now.DW has Meniere's. Eight years now. Lost half or more hearing in right hear. Also has noise & pressure in it. Remedy? I haven’t found one. I have constant whistling in my left ear. Right ear is normal. I’ve just learned to live with it.And most importantly what was your remedy...?
I can relate to this post,it's very humbling to say the least.I have issues with many things related to this and loss of hearing but hopefully I can at least keep what hearing that I have left but not too optimistic about that.I have found nothing to help.… sadly, I have no doubt that my insane tinnitus will ultimately take years off of my life … at a minimum, it has significantly impacted my quality of life …nothing masks, hearing aids, sound machines, nothing masks how loud the high pitch never-ending tone is …if a cure is found, I would pay a lot to make this go away
What’s weird about mine, is that it’s just in my left ear, and the second thing is, I haven’t suffered any hearing loss. I’ve been to num ENT’s. Nothing they’ve tried has helped at all.I can relate to this post,it's very humbling to say the least.I have issues with many things related to this and loss of hearing but hopefully I can at least keep what hearing that I have left but not too optimistic about that.I have found nothing to help.
That's great, hopefully your condition will get better or not any worse. What’s weird about mine, is that’s just in my left ear, and the second thing is, I haven’t suffered any hearing loss. I’ve been to num ENT’s. Nothing they’ve tried has helped at all.
Honestly, I really think I need to get an MRI. However, every time I bring it up to a Doctor, they just ignore me.That's great, hopefully your condition will get better or not any worse.![]()
Same!Yes, for many years. Largely due to gunfire and explosions while serving in the Army.
Keep BP down (mine = 117/78 usually). Limiting caffeine helps some. Walking helps some. Otherwise, I deal with it.
Good luck.
Hearing aids with a low white noise type sound has helped somewhat but again that's just masking over and not a cureI have both subjective and pulsatile tinnitus. Have just lived with it for years. Don’t believe the cure hype, but if someone has a remedy, please let us know.
My hearing aids help a little but not much overall.I just live with it and try to make the best of it.Hearing aids with a low white noise type sound has helped somewhat but again that's just masking over and not a cure
I had my basement waterproofed several years ago. Even though a jackhammer was in constant use in an enclosed environment, none of the workers wore ear protection. I was shocked.I've just learned to live with it. Mine is a constant dog whistle type sound on the left and intermittent on the right. Some days are worse than others, fortunately no vertigo, etc. Family owned a paving/excavating company growing up and hunted and shot trap for fun. Hearing protection in the 70s was almost nonexistent.
