End of third UK up 7-0. McCoy hot today. Two hits with a HR.

Terrible inning. Cats looked to cruise after building a lead. Now 8-3 with no outs in the 5th.

This is pathetic. Pitching is so bad, and the D totally lost focus. Feels like they'll need to score 15 to win. Not like they have an endless supply of quality arms to begin with ...using WAY too many guys against the 4 seed in game 1.

Ming said they were really focused coming in, and they looked it for 4 innings. Problem is, game's 9 innings, and we don't have a bullpen right now.

Really needed that Top7 from Hogan. Hopefully righted the ship. A few more insurance runs would be nice.

Looks like other SEC team’s struggling as well.
Georgia, LSU, and SC all had walk off victories. Vandy got blown out and Arkansas is barely hanging on in their ongoing game. Our win doesn’t seem so bad with all of that in mind. What matters a lot more is how we respond in the next game.

I disagree with a lot of the sentiments here regarding our pitching. Niman was lights out for four innings and even in the fifth they didn't hit him hard. They got 3-4 fluke hits that never left the infield. If even one of them were handled, then we maybe give up 2-3 runs instead of five and it's a different narrative.

Hogan was great. I hate that we had to use him today b/c he's our best reliever, but should be available again on Monday if we need him (and hopefully we don't have to play on monday).

As it stands, we have our two Best starters waiting in the wings for games 2 and 3.

RELAX!

UC Santa Barbara 13 18 51 185
Oklahoma 14 16 41 266
NC State 15 21 44 115
Arizona 31 17 36 96
Oregon State 16 27 62 91

Notice our region is the only one with an RPI sum of the first two teams that is less than 20. There is a big difference in the sums of the top two teams in a region: 27, 29, 13, 24, 33, 40, 26, 32, 31, 40, 36, 31, 30, 36, 49, 43. Obviously RPI isn't everything but that doesn't seem very balanced.

By these numbers, Oregon State’s Regional had the second highest number of combined RPI, at 43, for the top two teams.

Who knows??

Evansville advances as the #76 RPI. Tennessee has to be loving that.
