He walked back to the bench under his own power so I am going to be optomistic. Amazing how this team held on to win without him in there.

Yes. Was going to say. He went to the locker room for 5 minutes of real time but came back out with his jersey on, no brace, etc. IIRC, when Ty got hurt against Nebraska last year he changed into sweats and was clearly limping. Didn’t see that from Leach fwiw.

I would presume he will get an MRI tomorrow, hopefully no major issues but I’m concerned.

I’m incredibly concerned and will be lighting several candles tonight in hopes it was just a knee twist or at worst some kind of sprain that causes him to miss little time.

Just from watching it live and seeing his reaction, put me in the concerned camp as well.

Leach injury—> will prob hear nothing until a couple hours before the next game, that seems like how NU does it?

I thought he might have bumped it really hard. A USC player was out with a bone bruise. Maybe that is the best we can hope for. To add insult to injury, he was called for a travel because he fell down when an opponent landed on him.

If Leach could just have gotten himself kicked out of the game early he could have avoided the injury.....

The fact he came back to the bench and was walking around without crutches is encouraging. I'm optimistic on this one.

The way it buckled with the plant, I thought he had blown his ACL. Generally encouraging that he walked off (ginergly) on his own, but a lot of guys walk off the field after tearing an ACL. Also a good sign that he stayed on the bench.

Still, an ACL tear would not shock me.

That was my first reaction too with how his leg was planted and his knee being pushed inward.

Hard to believe that there wouldn’t be some kind of meniscus injury or at least mild ligament type injury given how he tentative he was after the injury. Maybe he was just being super cautious after the injury. Let’s hope for good news.

Do they ever announce these things? Feel like with the cats you just find out before the game if the guy is playing or not….

In my knee experiences (two surgeries) during athletic event if you sustain an injury the normal procedure is to wrap and ice it to control swelling. Although it did not look good when it happened, Jalen was walking OK and nothing was done in the locker room to mitigate the potential swelling. I am going to be optimistic at this point. Any Drs. out there disagree with my thinking?

He kind of reminds me of that dude who used to post on here under the Haywood Jablowme handle. That dude knew what was going on the last few years of the Carmody era, and the first couple of years that Collins was here.
He thinks barnheizer is coming back next year. Loses his credibility right there.

He also knew that Barnhizer reinjjred foot and was out for the season which appears to have been correct. Confirmed by collins before another talk. The man has a source!

Turk is in Florida, where many people go to spend their final years
I miss Turk. He was a passionate NU fan. He was what made the old board interesting. His posts stimulated controversy and discussion, He relocated to Florida and I believe stayed in touch with FA until Jerry's death. The board was more interesting in those years

The remaining players after losing Brooks and Leach, average less than 50 ppg. Gonna b interesting to see what happens now.
