Looking at this season, we have a tendency to blame our loses on missing players, Coach K missing time and the issues with Allen. My problem with this team is the Coaches and the development of the big's on the bench. I understand Giles being hurt but no excuse to have:
DeLaurier 6'10
Vrankovic 7'0
Jeter 6'10
Bolden 6'11

Now to me it makes no sense to only have Jefferson as a consistent big that can play meaning minutes for Duke. Every year we struggle to have depth at the 4 and 5 position and I blame our coaches for not being able to develop a sophomore(Jeter) or the other players that I listed above. We have 4 guys over 6'10 and combined they can't give 15-20 quality minutes.

It is frustrating to see so much size on the bench, but over the years I've kinda taught myself not to second guess the coaching staff TOO much when it comes to playing time. There is almost certainly more going on behind closed doors. I find it hard to believe that the young bigs (Bolden and Jeter especially) would be riding the pine if they were completely healthy AND performing well in practice/earning the minutes.

I agree. You would think we could have developed one of those guys further, and/or one would have emerged at this point....That being said, if we play like we did yesterday in 2nd half this group can go a long way....

I don't think you will find one poster who has at some point this season said the same thing

Rumor hasn't it Duke will seek a medical redshirt for Jeter. He's not healthy. Neither is Harry, but he's making strides. Hard to comment more on Vrank and Bolden. Our best lineups seem to be with more diversified scorers on the floor. Those guys are named Jayson, Luke, Grayson and Frank.

Coach K loves his guards and is better at developing them. The 3 point shot is such a staple on our programs culture. Zoubek is the last Big Project I remember Coach impressing with

Was Mason Plumlees not a project? I mean he was always good...But his senior year he became pretty incredible. Big guys need time to develop. Look down the road...They develop bigs sure, but not in one year.
