There was no mention of mono on TV, radio or in the Chicago papers. Reported that it was the flu or an illness.

Medline and Greenstein are calling it mono. I expect Lindsey out until March. Would be very glad to be wrong.

I would take it as good news potentially. Still in flu season but an immunocompetent host should recover from this. Mono much more problematic. Hopefully he is back very soon

When Sanjay had mono, the team disclosed it right away, I believe. If I am correct, and the team hasn't disclosed anything, then I am guessing it is not mono.

That was 2012 though, different staff. May not be indicative.

Love that guy:

Maybe Privacy Laws prohibit disclosure? My understanding is that schools (and professional teams as well) can't freely disclose illnesses and injuries so readily these days. If one has an infectious or communicable illness, I suspect the school needs to be even more careful...

Same AD though. Wouldn't he be the one who would control the release of info about players?
Nah, I'm thinking Dr. Jim would probably follow whatever the Coach wants. Assuming Carmody didn't care one way or the other, and CC probably wants a little more mystery regarding it, forcing teams to prepare for the possibility of Lindsey playing.

I wonder if the decision to red shirt Sanjay played into disclosing his illness....
