Knox averaged 8ppg and 3rpg shooting 35% from 3. The first half of the year he was basically unplayable.
Richmond averaged 5ppg and 3rpg shooting 12% from 3.
They were projected to start here, Knox for sure. They’d have been crucified, rightly, had they done that here last year.
Plus, Cal absolutely would have done worse here than he did at Arkansas last year. Most of the year they were awful. It took a minor miracle for them to make the tournament and then had a S16 run. Big whoop.
THis really is a key thing he is missing rightn now. When by the first time out you see the team not running the offense you fix it right then by getting in some grills and letting them know this isnt an option. You pass you cut (hard) or you sit beside me. You crash boards with energy and effort or you sit beside me. We go real long stretches of bad play on both ends that can be fixed by metrics or strategy. He has to learn to be more demaning of his guys but not sure he has it in him and that worries me

Think about this a little. I know most of people wont admit this since it's politically incorrect to say but Pope is from the west coast and he has had 5 females around him most of his life. He is an emotional basket case. Just watch his post game interview after the Michigan state game. He acted like a wimp. Men need real men around them and not be some emotional weaklings. We are just different and thats a fact. He talks like a women. Oh he's is so beautiful and i have such compassion etc… You cant steer the titanic unless you are a hard nose individual. We are a sinking ship because of his demeanor.
In my mind no real Kentucky fan would EVER boo our players in a game. I don't give a flying !@#$ if the are getting paid. You DONT boo UK players on ours or any other floor. I wish those guys would go pull for the Birds.
