Used to drink quite a bit. Probably 4 times a week in my early/mid 20s.

Started smoking weed.

Don't drink. No more add medicine. No more anxiety pills. It's not a miracle drug but it's damn close. I never intended to stop drinking it just kinda happened.
I just talked to a friend and ordered some.

We'll see how it goes.

I'm optimistic.

Very sorry to hear this.

I wish you all the best in your recovery.

I guess I'm a little different. I have always been a drinker, but usually just on the weekend. I'm never going to give up my wine and beer, but I don't drink hard liquor. My problem, especially since my beloved Mom passed away, is I have gone from drinking on Friday, Saturday, and Sundays, which I've done since I was 19, to drinking every day.

Look, I think this numbness, and feeling lost and depressed, and wondering if it's even worth getting up and trying to be productive, will pass eventually.

Some of you have told me that you've lost many family members, and that you're coping fine. I find that encouraging, and hope I can get to that point soon.
Sounds like you have depression. Maybe the weed will help. If not, go see a doctor and get treatment for the depression. Mental health is just as serious as the rest of your health. It's a damn shame that it still has a stigma in this country that probably discourages people from getting the help they need.

...may drank too much?

Since my Mother in law passed away in September, and the my Mom passed away on July 4th, I find myself drinking on a daily basis now.

Does anyone else do this?
Poor bastard. You don't know wether to celebrate or mourne. Know wonder your getting effed up every day.

On a serious note though. Condolences. Hang in there. Find something constructive to do with your time and get help if you need it. No shame in it. Too many people have ruined their lives because of alcohol. Good luck.

I drink more than I even care about. Sometimes I struggle more days than most. But, it's also took a lot away from me, I was married to a beautiful wife and had kids, a home, the American dream. And, woke up one day with it gone. Alcohol took my life from me, but, I choose to do it so nobody is to blame but me. Lost my grandmother, and 3 weeks to the day I lost my father, on her birthday. Godspeed man.. it's a hell of a road

Hey man would you like to go to a game at Rupp Arena this year? Free tickets

If you don't have anybody to go with right now I will drive up and go with you.

I want you to know that all of us have issues. We all make mistakes and deal with our demons.

Just PM me if you have any interest.

I like the humor!

A lot of people dislike their Mom and especially their Mother in Law.

I was extremely fortunate that both were very important to me, and I loved them both.

I'm coping as best I can, but I realize now that nothing will ever be the same. I still enjoy sports, but I will never take it as seriously as before. That's a good thing I guess.

One thing is for sure, I am much more sympathetic towards people now than I was before.

I realize that everyone is going through something bad, some more than others.

Go Cat's!

Most guys aren't fortunate enough to have such a great relationship with their MIL. I know I don't.

Anyone here ever watch that tv show called "Dinosaurs"?

My favorite scene.
