Miserable with this world and looking forward to football starting? Pretty excited to see the CCL this year. Seems to be stacked across the board.

excited to see the CCL
I agreeCan't wait to be the Kurt Russell in the real life upcoming Escape From Wherever.
But as far as football goes it'll probably be my most anticipated season since I can remember.
I expect it to be the toughest we've seen since it's inception.I agree
This might be the toughest SWSB conference we have seen in years. This season is going to be a lot of fun to watch.
Top to bottom this maybe be as good or better than the CCL Blue. O damn did I just fire shots? HahahaI expect it to be the toughest we've seen since it's inception.
Love it.Top to bottom this maybe be as good or better than the CCL Blue. O damn did I just fire shots? Hahaha![]()
Yeah, everyone's pumped up. The word on the street is that MC will have one of its best teams ever. Also heard on the street is that a dozen other schools are bringing back tons of talent and will be as good or better than they've ever been. Let the games begin!Love it.
Crazy, I don't know if it's me, but it seems like some serious talent across the board.Yeah, everyone's pumped up. The word on the street is that MC will have one of its best teams ever. This being said, I wonder if the SWSC Blue division will now win 100% of their 15 cross over games with the Red division (93% in '21, 80% in '19) and improve upon the existing almost 28-point average margin of victory over those 2 seasonsI expect it to be the toughest we've seen since it's inception.

One of their best teams. But I'm not ready to crown them yet. You're right that no one remembers the great teams that failed to hoist a trophy.Best team ever is a stretch
We still don't know what Lockport has, I think they were Sr dominated last year. Sandburg I would say is still a question as is HF. Who do LWW, Bradley, and Andrew have and where? I would take the over on .5 wins. This being said, I wonder if the SWSC Blue division will now win 100% of their 15 cross over games with the Red division (93% in '21, 80% in '19) and improve upon the existing almost 28-point average margin of victory over those 2 seasons

I agree with Bones but LP and Sandburg appear to have moved in the right direction. Unless they were both Sr loaded last year? HF I am not to sure about since it was kinda a shock how far they fell last year. I am giving the benefit of the doubt since LP won 8A and Sandburg was much improved. HF usually has plenty of talent and we will see if the new coach can get them turned around in his 2nd season. Again I feel this season will be very competitive. We still don't know what Lockport has, I think they were Sr dominated last year. Sandburg I would say is still a question as is HF. LWE and Brook return a lot.
Agreed. I'd give Lockport the benefit of the doubt based on the last two seasons and Sandburg trending upward. I just think the Red won't be swept and those are the best chances for a Red W as of June 19th.I agree with Bones but LP and Sandburg appear to have moved in the right direction. A discussion about how a smaller-enrollment division in a conference might squeeze out 1 win from 15 mandatory cross-overs with the larger-enrollment division? Something is very wrong with this picture and some heads must truly be in the sand (or somewhere worse) on this disparity.Agreed. Would be curious to hear Mt Carmel posters thoughts on their feelings when Lenti was ousted to now. Tough situation to go through but appears to be the correct outcome??Yeah, everyone's pumped up. Good luck Coach! It's going to be a rough go for you guys with Phillips and Taft. Hopefully, you can get yourselves established in the top CPS conference with some wins and stay up! It's always tough in the first year or so for the teams that make that leap up. Looking forward to seeing you at the new and improved Rockne!Im ready to take our place at the table with the big boys of CPS....no more excuses, no more what ifs. We got what we wanted and are in the conference with Phillips. To be the best you gotta play the best
I think Phillips will start trending downward, especially with McCallister gone. I saw MC play them in the 2019 playoffs and again in 2021 and they were night and day and far less disciplined in 2021. The Soph team that played MC in 2021 was very bad.Im ready to take our place at the table with the big boys of CPS....no more excuses, no more what ifs. Their you go. Hahaha I knew it was just a matter of time until one of you guys chimed in. We will see how this season plays out.sounds like you've taken too many.
Went back and forth on if I should answer this because I didn't want to resurrect that severely beaten horse that was laid to rest nearly 5 years ago, but I get your question is about thoughts on how MC fans feel the transition has gone. In my opinion only, I think it has gone tremendously well. Coach Lynch winning State, with his offense, in 2019, obviously gives him a ton of breathing room. I don't know if that team goes 14-0 with the Veer that season. I'm also confident that MC would have been a strong favorite to win 7A in 2020 if Covid hadn't stopped that fall season. The 4-2 Spring record was with a team missing Ben Perry who left early for Louisville and Tom Egan who opted out for baseball, both strong key players that would have been there for the fall season. Lynch is 37-8 with a State Title, a Semi Final and Quarter Final under his belt. This years team is 100% the players he recruited and brought in. Since Coach Lynch has come in, the hemorrhaging of transfers that had been occurring among many of MC top players from 2015-2017 to IMG and Phillips has seems to have come to an end.Would be curious to hear Mt Carmel posters thoughts on their feelings when Lenti was ousted to now. Tough situation to go through but appears to be the correct outcome??
Thanks for sharing. As an outsider, that’s what I thought would be the feeling inside the MC program.Went back on forth on if I should answer this because I didn't want to resurrect that severely beaten horse that was laid to rest nearly 5 years ago, but I get your question is about thoughts on how MC fans feel the transition has gone. The biggest positive, besides the State Title, is if Coach Lenti was still at MC, we would still be playing at Gately and not have Barda Dowling Stadium, which has been an absolute breath of fresh air and joy to finally be playing on our campus, full time. Coach Lenti did not want to give up Gately and that's a fact.
My main concern will show more this season then last, and thats how the defense will do this season, being the second season since Coach Dave Lenti retired. I knew with 9 new starters on D last season and being Coach OB's first season replacing Coach Dave there would be growing pains, and there was. They were brilliant against Rita and Batavia, so-so vs Loyola and lousy vs Iggy and Rice. This season with 9 starters back, much more will be expected.

Had the field, not the stadium.Did you guys have the new stadium but only used it as a practice field under Lenti?
I always appreciate McCaravan's thoughtful comments. Few other posters have his knowledge of the program. However, I think it is way too early, way too premature, for this question to even be asked. The reason is that Lynch doesn't have the body of work that Lenti accumulated. A single title against one 4-peat, one 3-peat, and one 2-peat, for example. I will say that Coach Lynch, as a mentor and motivator of young men, seems to be the equal of Coach Frank.Would be curious to hear Mt Carmel posters thoughts on their feelings when Lenti was ousted to now. With the way the game is played now, with the amount of talent each school has, the off season training, constant 7 on 7, strength and agility training, Linemen training, Next Level QB training....I will be stunned if anyone accomplishes what Coach Frank did with the 4 peat and 3 peat ever again....repeat absolutely will be done but not without a fight....going undefeated in this day and age is difficult. The game and players have changed so much since MC’s domination in the late 80’s and through the 90’s, mainly with the off season training I mentioned above. Different animal now.I always appreciate McCaravan's thoughtful comments. Few other posters have his knowledge of the program. Love it! But to be fair, Jordan made the crappy desperation pitch to the RB.....the RB, Tim Brown I believe, picked it up and made a blind desperation pass to a WR that was standing 15 yards away from the nearest JCA defender.....it’s on You Tube!Lynch may be a very good replacement for Lenti, regardless of how it all came to be, BUT I will never forgive Lynch for that desperation TD pass against JCA at Soldier's Field.
I saw it live. The absolute ugliest yet most successful play in MC historyWow! That blows
My Cousin was the middle linebacker for JCA on that play. : )I saw it live. The absolute ugliest yet most successful play in MC history![]()
Just got some news that you would like which leads to related news that I like, starting next season.
