My mom was just diagnosed this week and scary as hell. Went from no symptoms to serious in two months

Seems pretty manageable. Make sure to check for fluid build up in legs…”allergy” cough/chest feeling could be fluid on the lungs.

Balance out the diet/sodium/fluid intake. Probably get on some type of diuretic. Get a normal schedule with a local heart clinic. Should have good success and feel good about things in a couple of months. Hopefully.

Also - the “no symptoms” to serious was probably months of build up. At least that’s what I’ve seen from people around me. Their “normal” isn’t quite normal…seems to take a lot to feel ******, even though things are/were getting ******.

Lasix will help. I’m sure they will monitor her cholesterol. If she is retaining fluid once she gets some of that off her she needs to do light exercise. Did they order a stress test? My mom couldn’t walk on a treadmill so they did the test where they inject her to mimic exercise to check her heart. It freaks you out when you first hear CHF but there are several options that can help.

All I can say is my co-workers mom has it - she had to go to er a few times and doctors had to alter her medication at times but once they get the treatment figured out it is manageable

Take her to the best cardiac Dr. you can find. If you have good relationships with current Dr's you should be able to narrow down who to use and who not to use pretty quickly from their recommendations.

Listen to what he/she says. What we say may not be right for her specific condition. I wouldn't want to mislead you to think its always manageable, it isn't.

Good luck and God Bless.
