Hey now, those folks aren't liberals. They're something much more bizarrely left of liberal. Us actual liberals are all about individual liberty, not some grievance based political point system where the more marginalized they make you, the better they can feel about themselves.

Whats even more scary is she has a huge following that think she is a future leader and that they wish there were more like her.
I think Reagan said "Freedom is never more than one generation away from becoming extinct."
He must have seen people like her coming one day.
There are a lot of people out there in the US that want Socialism, believe it or not. Plenty of Socialist Countries out there, wish they would all move to one.

Liberals and their ideas have had firm control over our educational system for many decades. They have dumbed down standards and the quality of our education. Mainstream Democrats have pushed environmental extremism for a long time. VP Al Gore said the world would end in 10 years.

All this is coming full circle as this crazy wing of the Democratic Party will divide their party and make the entire Democratic Party look very extreme in the eyes of the few moderates left who will cross party lines and among independents who will determine most elections. These crazy democrats will provide an extraordinary amount of motivation for ordinary republicans to get out and vote.

What do you all expect from some 28 year old who has spent her whole in the Bronx and Queens in NYC What do you expect from some 28 year old whose work prior to becoming a Member of the US House of Representatives has been as a community organizer along with being a waitress and bartender.

She has zero concept of the real world the rest of us live and work and produce real constructive goods and other products. I really doubt that in her adult life she has ever been out of the Bronx and Queen. So, she is ignorant of how the real world actually works.

She is a great example of the empty headed Left Wing Socialist that have hijacked the Democratic Party. I grew up in a yellow dog Democrat family. These were good people who lived through the great depression and the dust bowl. They grew up in tough times. They served in WWII and were Patriots all of their lives. In the late 1970s they changed their political affiliation to the Republican Party. They did this due to the Democratic Party left them high and dry.

I can't believe real Democrats can still be aligned with the Left Wing Socialist Radicals.

And to think Uncle Bernie was cheated out of running against Trump by HRC. That's her one redeeming outcome. Sanders would've been a handful for DJT with today's millennials looking for handouts and Bern willing to oblige.

I'm impressed that you know of Mencken (one of many great resources in my History degree). He was quite a 19th century man/journalist that covered in person the Scopes "monkey trial" for the old Baltimore Sun. He was fond of the term 'buncombe' which is early 20th century equivalent of BS. My only knock on HLM was, as he was German he was slow to the evils of Hitler but came around.

I'm not sure of that yet. Here's my theory of what may be happening. Roll out these ultra-radicals to run for president, make headlines, get people stirred up, then a level headed, traditional, reasonable senior Democrat steps in to take control and "win the party back", thus winning the 2020 presidential election. You fill in the name of who that candidate may be. I think I know. She is absent from the headlines right now. For good reason. Just a theory.

Many of the Co-Sponsors of the Green New Deal on this link will be destroyed with republican advertisements. This will be used with great effect against many of the these elected democratic running in the next several elections... but also against others who have shown they are extremely sympathetic to this line of thinking.

This will seriously marginalize the Democratic Party and help transform the nation for a very long time.

The republicans can take back the house, see Trump elected again, add seats in the senate....where a super majority may not be totally out of the question?

The dem’s as a serious national party are imploding.

Why do some in the GOP view AOC as the representative of the current Dem party?
She comes from a very liberal district of New York and she only is one of the Dem's House new 40 members and probably she is the youngest.. Its like a Dem saying Kellyanne Conway with her alt truth is the representative who most reflects the GOP or maybe Rep Steve King of Iowa who most represents the GOP. .
I think the Democratic party will be more middle of the road with a Joe Biden or a Michael Bloomberg or even a moderate Dem Senator like the lady from Michigan. .
Those in the GOP are fooling themselves that the Democrats will have a radical left
presidential candidate like a Elizabeth Warren or a Corey Booker each who has no chance in hell. AOC won't even be in the National Picture.

I hope they finally learn that health care is the most important issue to most Americans and that is what wins elections.

It depends on the media outlet. "Most important" is relative. Some say climate change. To half the nation, nothing matters but beating Trump at any cost. That is #1. #2 is beat Trump. #3... get rid of Trump. Immigration and economy got Trump elected and will get him re-elected. Yes, health care is important. But no one poll is a one-size-fits-all. Too much corruption in the press to believe any poll. Even the one that says 72% approved of DJT's SOTU address.

McCain effectively shut down GOP efforts to overhaul Obamacare because of his disdain for Trump. He cast the deciding nay vote to sink Republican efforts. Where were you to have not noticed. Did your seething hate for DJT get in your way?.

I would bet it is a million to one . the Dems would nominate Elizabeth Warren. She has no chance in hell. Keep fanticisizing that the Dems nominate her or AOC or Booker or several others.
The very first state that has their Democrat presidential primary is California and California Senator K.. Harris will eliminate Warren. I still think the Dem POTUS candidate will be Biden or Bloomberg. One by one every other Dem POTUS Candidate will be eliminated.
