It's not a big deal. Think about it for a second....166 freakin' weeks. That's amazing. Even more amazing? Before that it was 200 straight weeks.
Good point. Between those 2 streaks we've spent a total of 266 out of the last 267 weeks ranked in the top 25. There aren't too many teams that can say that.

True I was hoping to witness Coach add another milestone to his resume, like he needs another one. Being that close to Coach Woodens record twice is amazing but he might would have retired even before reaching it this time. I'm thinking Coach Woodens streak is around 240 weeks.

Wooden was at 221 and Coach being at 366 out of 367 weeks is mind boggling. We as Duke fans have truly been blessed to be able to witness his reign at Duke and still rolling strong after so many years.

As expected, Duke fell out of the top 25 today for the first time since March 2007. But it's okay because we are the defending National Champs!

No change up top. Oklahoma stays #1 followed by UNCheat #2. Maryland climbs from #8 to #4.

Big shakeup this week.. I thought there might be a chance that Duke could squeeze back in but we didn't..

Top 3.. Villanova, Maryland, Oklahoma. UNCheat drops from #2 to #9 as a result of their 2 losses.

Although Duke does typically get the benefit of the doubt in the rankings, I'd be surprised if we sneak in this week. Other teams in around are some boat (e.g., Notre Dame) secured wins that I think will allow them to sneak ahead of us for the couple spots at the end of the rankings.

Not only did we not "squeeze back in." but we got only 14 votes in all, fewer than San Diego State and Seton Hall. Travesty, as my old baseball coach Tom Butters used to say.

Two straight losses and only drop to 9? We have 6 losses and they have 4. Should they drop two more will they fall out of the top 25? I doubt it.

UNC is 5-3 against the RPI top 50, including wins over Maryland, road wins at FSU & Syracuse, and a neutral cite win against KSU. Duke is 1-5 against the RPI Top 50 (a neutral cite win over VCU). Further, UNC is undefeated on neutral cites and at home -- whereas we've lost 4 games in those settings. In view of that, I'm not really going to complain about them being ranked a lot higher than us. The good thing about this year is that everyone has so many warts on their resume that Duke will have its chances to significantly improve its standing in the polls / NCAAs if it wins. I think this is a year where even 1 seeds will have 5 to 6 losses, and even an 8 or 9 loss team can end up with a pretty good seed.

Did anyone notice that even though Louisville was #13 in the new AP Poll today, they completely dropped out of the new coaches poll today?

Nice win last night against Louisville. If we can beat UVA this weekend, we'll be back in the rankings again. Right now this team is lacking quality wins. Last night was definitely a help, but I think we need another one to restore confidence from the voters.

You would think Indiana would be there, but they're only 1-1 against top 50 teams (Notre Dame and us) - factor that in with a poor Out-of-conference showing including losses to Wake and UNLV, and they're a little behind in the game. But with conference games against Iowa(x2), Purdue, Maryland, and Michigan State, they have plenty of chances to make a big climb in the rpi rankings.

Someone please explain why Indiana wasn't a "quality win." They were in the top 25 until yesterday and are 9-2
Isn't Indiana a top 50 win?
I thought the same thing. After all, they are 9-2 and in third place in the Big 10, which one could argue is better than, or at least equal to, the ACC this year. They also just dropped out of the AP 25 this week and are still 22 in the Coaches' Poll . Losing to Penn State, I guess, is like murdering your sister.

I think there is something to be said about playing too many guys. Duke's problem this season is that the depth is either too young or not quite talented enough. Help is coming next year. The bench will be bigger.

With all the talent coming in next year, who on the bench will be sitting in just warm ups because we all know Coach K will not play 8 or more players.

8 or more?!! Hah. He's only playing 5 next year.
