I'd put us a few spots higher but wouldn't rank us top 25. Probably ahead of Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech, for example. Both teams return a few more starters than we do, but both were also 7-6 last year and the Cowboys were 49th in the final computer composite poll.

We start 4-0 and we'll be ranked, and deserve to be. 3-1 and we'll be high on "others receiving votes". 2-2 and it will be a long haul back to relevance.

Very disappointed... Last week you start a "10 win Hell Yeah!" thread and this week you put "IF we win". Don't stop passing out the kool-aid already. ;)

Lol!
When we kick the dog **** outta BYU, Miami, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan State and that crap hole that is Iowa we'll rocket up the polls! The other teams on our schedule will get the dead dog @ss kicking!

FIFY! :D

I would say not a lot of preseason respect, but really is no respect when you get just 6 points. As a fan, it's hard to not be optimistic. So, let's hope we move up and keep moving up.

If we win things will take care of themselves but I feel we should have started somewhere between 21 to 25. We were 1 play away from beating USC and won 9 games last year.

$EC ten of the top 27 teams. Wow not a bad way to start the season.

No way TCU and Baylor both get into top four either.

Nebraska is a top 21-25 team right now. IMO. Go 4-0 and the team moves into top 20 in the polls. The MSU and Wisky games make the season. Everyone else needs to be a W for a top level finish. But honestly until the team does it on the field, the image is of the 9 duh wins and yearly wood shed whooping by someone. Takes time to change the image of others that they have if the program. Let's see what happens this year. Think 10-3 with a bowl win and ranked inside top 15.

Number one rule in sports, always respect your opponent. You can look like a real idiot if you shoot your mouth off only to get humbled.

Michigan with 2 votes is brilliant.

That statistic about Nebraska being the only team to finish lower than its preseason rating is so telling about the last coaching staff. What you got at the beginning of the year is what you got by the end, if not a little worse. It will be so refreshing to see a team actually improve over the course of the year.

Nebraska, Texas, Michigan, Florida, Miami, Texas A&M

Pretty amazing to see a preseason poll where none of the above are ranked in the Top 25.
