Didn’t watch a second of the game. Didn’t watch a second of the UNC or MSU games either. Knew they’d be losses. Only saw a few minutes of the UL game. This would have killed me in the past and ruined my entire weekend. Now? I’m really not even mad. The only real emotion I feel is towards Barnhart. He’s the lowest of the low scum and deserves a pink slip.

Even if this eventually turns around with a new coach there’s no guarantee I’ll regain that passion I once had for it. A good example of this is UL. They spent many years being embarrassed. Their fans turned apathetic. They turn it around and they’ve had games this year at home with a lot of empty seats. Once you realize you’re fine without something it’s hard to go back to being crazy about that something.

I’d really like to know how much UK will have lost in revenue over the last 6-7 years and it’s probably going to get worse.

I’ve been apathetic since 2021. UK is turning into Indiana. 10-12 year olds probably think UK is a loser program. With dusty banners.
Kids see UNC, Duke, Kansas, Uconn winning big games, goign to final fours, playing in national title games. They see UK losing to saint peters and Oakland. And getting blown out by 30 points every night. While announcers say how great the tradition is. And it’s not UK basketball. While 2012 gets further and further away.

Apathy? I saw more anger from the fans than I did from the players losing by 30+. But apathy will become stronger the longer we suck, becoming like Indiana and UCLA, being replaced by the Uconns and Floridas in importance in basketball.

I watched the game but I don’t show emotion while watching sports .

Although I must say I am shocked at how terrible we are . I didn’t expect to win tonight but I didn’t think we would lose like this

Yeah exactly I used to find myself scheduling around games but now I just don't care
Exactly the same. Up until about 7 years ago there was absolutely nothing that could keep me from watching a game. Not a funeral, not a wedding, nothing. Now I just don’t care. I honestly thought the game was tomorrow. Wouldn’t have even known we played if espn hasn’t sent me an alert.

Barnhart and this administration want you not to care. They’ve tried to limit expectations for years. It’s why they want you to buy that 6-6 seasons are great! Keep coming next year might be 7! And people keep showing up. It’s exactly what they want.

They wanted to care less but come on out. Stop showing up and turn your care meter to the roof.

Those fans haven’t gotten to apathy. I’m further along in the process than them. I’d been mad had I spent all that money on tickets and travel just to see a team that didn’t even try and never even remotely had a chance to win as soon as it tipped.

I want to say I’m apathetic but that’s just not true.

I care way too much.

This is just painful.

Barnhart sucks. He doesn't give a damn about MBB, He's been trying to torpedo THE PROGRAM for a while now.

Well- I bought 2 tickets behind UKs bench. Row K. Didn’t have to pay scalper prices since I had season tickets. Hell, I think I paid around $350. Been awhile but I really don’t remember. Add- $500 for JW Marriott. $75 for gas, $200 for dinner. $1200 and thus Fing team was booed off and all game. They deserved. F every single one of them lol.

Lost most of my interest immediately this season. Turn 42 soon and lived in the Bluegrass all my life. Wondering if I might not ever see a final four weekend again. These kids dont care anymore and now they get paid. Im not against a man or woman earning money but this product or atleast ours is garbage. Bring in a real Pope and clear our facilities. We are cursed

Seems like UK fans are the only one’s who can’t see how we’re fading into mediocrity, kinda like UCLA did with all those banners. Doesn’t have to be this way but changes are needed starting with the AD.

I don't see apathy. I see people turning off a bad product that's not worth watching. If we turned the corner, people would tune back in. (I am not saying that I think we will turn the corner.,..)

Apathy set in with Cal, Pope has done nothing to alleviate it. Sad, but true. Been a perpetual state for far too long now.

You wanna admit to becoming a casual, that’s your prerogative. Don’t be surprised when people roll their eyes when we eventually get good again and you come back. However long that is.

Watched the game from start to finish. It was probably good for my blood pressure since there was absolutely no doubt of the outcome from early on. I don't know how to describe it other than it was somehow like a comedic funeral. No effort, no basketball IQ, no semblance of offense, no resolve on defense...nothing.

This is actually true. I mentor young people in that age bracket and they were making fun of Kentucky last week, telling me we already had "three losses" while Duke was still undefeated. They all love Duke, of course. Kentucky is Indiana with more titles. We're basically a combination of UCLA and Indiana. Tons of hardware from the past, but not current relevancy.

What you saw tonight was Indiana Basketball. We are what they became 20-25 years ago. 5 years ago we said we were in danger of becoming it. We are now there. We decided to speed run to a level of mediocrity that we would not have dreamed was possible prior to COVID.

I know messages boards tend to skew older and folks may be unaware. Younger kids outside of Kentucky DO NOT respect UK in the same way you and I do. They have ZERO historical context that we benefit from.

PEOPLE ARE ENTERING HIGH SCHOOL NEXT YEAR WHO HAVE NOT BEEN ALIVE TO WITNESS A KENTUCKY CHAMPIONSHIP. NO RECRUITS WANT TO COME HERE. KENTUCKY DOES NOT MOVE THE NEEDLE WHATSOEVER. EVEN OUR CURRENT PLAYERS COULD NOT CARE LESS ABOUT WHAT YOU, I, OR HISTORY EXPECTS OF THEM.

Though we have the most passionate fans in all of sports, the athletic department has taken them for granted for well over a decade. Your opinion as a fan has (and I stress) ZERO weight on Mitch's decision making. An insular, incompetent administration has buried the program you love. It is over. You do not matter. The fact that if you failed so spectacularly at your job, your *** would be homeless, does not matter. The sooner you accept that as a Kentucky fan, the easier Mitch's 800k retirement gig will be. Please quit asking him moderately difficult questions so he can get back to not giving a **** about you, unless you are rich.

Only through sheer tyranny of will on the part of this fanbase will this program ever experience dominance again.

We need another 2 decades of this to be as pathetic as Indiana.

I watched every second of this game hoping we lost by 50 so pope could get fired a little quicker. He has to go and soon or we are gonna be set back decades.
That’s the only reason I didn’t leave early. I stayed just to see how bad they would actually beat us.i wasn’t rooting for Gonzaga but I kinda enjoyed them beating our players ***. They deserve it. We don’t deserve it as fans that’s why I had to get some kind of enjoyment from it. We looked to have way better talent than them in person. We have a good team. That’s if they didn’t have off the court issues.

After this game I’ve come to the conclusion that I will roll with the rumors even if it’s something different that we haven’t heard. This team doesn’t have a talent problem. We have off the court issues. This isn’t the bad news bears. They just simply don’t care.

How much did we end up losing by? I thought they was gonna run it up to 50 at one point. There was a time we were down more points than we had. It’s was when we was down thirty something and had 20 something on the scoreboard. I just had to laugh. I’m proud of myself. I ended up enjoying my night.

I couldn't watch the start because of a work commitment, then turned it on the radio about an hour in. First thing I heard was Graham Ike hitting two free throws and Tom Leach says "and the Cats are down 19 with four minutes to go in the half." I should've turned it right back off but I guess I'm a masochist because I kept listening.
