Ive done a search and drawn nothing but would have sworn we had a thread on here where someone claimed to have some sort of honest knowledge that either we could get the ESPNs and SEC Network on Apple TV in short order or that Sling TV would be Apple compatible. As football season nears, I just wanted to follow up. Hate to have to go buy another device to watch the stuff and I am off of cable/satellite.

Sling TV is where you can get ESPN channels ($25/month). Sling does not work on Apple TV but if you had an iPhone or iPad, you could get the Sling TV app and mirror it to your Apple TV.

If that sounds like a lot of trouble, just go buy a Roku 2 for $69.

Hmm. I didn't think about that.

Have Sling...... figured out yesterday that you can only watch it on one device at a time for the price.

I completely understand not sharing outside of the subscribers home. But it would be nice if I could watch a show in one room and my daughter could watch another in her room. :(

WSJ article says you need a subscription to read the full article although I read a couple places Apple is trying to secure local TV broadcasting and that's part of the rollout delay.

sling subscribers get access to the watchespn app. You can use that to watch espn on apple tv and more than one device at the same time. As a bonus, they were providing access to all the espn channels so you could get access to the sec network through the app without paying the extra $5 a month. I don't know if they closed the loophole or not.

As far as I know it has been there since it launched. I used it back in March with no problems, but I stopped my subscription two months later so I don't know if anything has changed since then.

The service was fine. I think the interface still needs some work. The main reason I signed up was to watch the tournament. After it was over I really didn't use it much. I will probably revisit it for football season.

I'm probably ditching cable this fall but I know next to nothing about sling. Good to know I can get ESPN.
What about NFL network of Fox Sports?
