Remember the old days well. No one covers HS football like Edgy
As a former writer that covered the game, the coverage of HS football now is disgraceful. You have a couple of very good ones out there in Clark, O Brien Aguilar Stevenson Maciaszek Quagliano and a few others that actually care. You have some that don't - but no one does it with the passion of Edgy. Its a shame where it has gone because covering HS football was one of the best things to do.
I found the website in ‘98 when I was away at college but didn’t start to really lurk on it until ‘04. I finally signed up in ‘06 since I got irritated watching MC and LWE fans argue about who was the best team in 8A, they were both wrong. I took the plunge and became a paying member in ‘09, I would strongly suggest if you like site you give the pay side a try and see what your missing.
First time I saw this site was fall of 2000(holy crap 19 years ago) I had a teammate of mine, who is now a division III head coach, introduce me to the site when we started talking high school football. Lots of time spent reading on here. It’s interesting how you see the high school football dads come and go every few years but for the most part the diehards and arguments(public vs private) remain.
Tribune message boards were the best there was a WWS poster Andy D that used to love to get the CCL poster all riled up and was always entertaining, sadly he passed from cancer a few years.

You have some old timers on here me included. The only reason we are still here is because you brought us here. The state of Illinois and the IHSA are lucky to have you, what you have done over 2 decades is just remarkable. Thanks Tim for being you, We all appreciate your work ethic for the love of the game.

Was a long time lurker; going back before my Stoneder dayz. Pulled out the wallet some years ago and never a regret since (highly recommend membership for those that don't already have it).
Have always appreciated the hard work and dedication Edgy puts in. This site is a gem, and is unique to High School football, let alone Illinois. Appreciate and respect it folks!

as i enter my 31st year of coaching high school football, i know that i've been going to edgy's site for at least 18-19 years. i always look forward to running into edgy 2 or 3 times a year. he has helped me gain insight on many teams, and i know i can call or text him and i'll get an almost instant reply.

I first found this site in 20 years ago in 1999, the year I got hitched. Classic MC vs. JCA battles and posts regarding that outstanding rivalry and I was a avid poster and fan under a different handle name. A lot of you are still here 20 years later...Well I started having kids,switched careers and, my life got busy and I didn't have a lot of time to log on the computer until the I-phones came out. I always checked back in to this site, especially in Aug and playoff time but didn't start posting again until my kids got older and started playing ball and life slowed down a bit. That was a great article, Edgy thanks so much for all your hard work, the game has changed a lot over 20 years but your passion for this sport and this site has never changed!

Can't remember how I came across it, but this was before browsers remembered sites and I had to Lycos it every time. And we could post under whatever name we wanted to.
