With the SEC being so physical this year and the ref's being so bad and calling everything and checking the monitor constantly, then I would say that 2 1/2 hours will be the norm.

Refs don't have to make bad calls to hurt us. They just need to make a lot of them. We are a run and gun team. If you keep blowing that whistle, we can't flow. Also, with limited whistles, we will win a few games by running the legs off of our opponents. Like we did against Duke. Hard to tire a team when the refs give up lots of breathers.

My goodness, I know there’s some physical play but these guys are killing all the flow of the game being whistle happy.

The game would flow better if the refs would be more whistle happy at the onset to show brutish teams like aTm that the college football playoffs are not on the hardwood.

If half of the aTm team was on the bench w/3 fouls 10 minutes into the game, I bet the flow would improve as well as the game shorten.

Are we a run and gun team? Our defense and rebounding, although improved lately, doesn’t seem to create a lot of fast break opportunities. This team excels in the half court which is a major change of pace from Cal.

All I ask from the refs is to be consistent. If you're going to call it close, then do it on both ends of the floor. Likewise if you're going to let them play a bit.

If they would clean up the stupidity from the a&m type teams early on, like call the pushes and holds and grabs, then they’ll have to adjust or can foul out early. Then the monitor check every dead ball along with the dumb soccer flops after every shot is a bit nauseating, my guess is some new rule about that crap for next year.

In defense of the refs, I think a little bit of it was to try and keep A&M's recklessness in check. Buzz was trying to start something.
Every game against A&M is like that. They play physical and almost border on dirty. I don't personally fall for his coaches speak compliments in the pre/post game press conferences when he and his teams actions on the court say something different.

A&M vs. Bama on Saturday- nearly 3 hours.
A&M vs. UK last night- over 2 and 1/2 hours.

As my math teachers use to say, “look for the common denominator.”

An easy fix that would help a little (but will never happen) is getting rid of the under 4:00 tv timeout. There's always six more timeouts after that, plus three reviews, so it's kinda pointless. Take away a TO, or at least make one of them another 30 sec TO instead.

EDIT; and stop giving teams an extra 90 seconds to break the huddle and get back to game play after every dead ball. The refs can slow the game down, sure, but they should also speed up dead ball situations.

The non-conf games flew by. The conf games are meat grinders aided by the awful refs in this league. It's a shame.

Also if the team who called timeout is ready to go then resume play . We enforced that a lot in high school . You called the timeout why give the other team twenty extra seconds if you are ready. Yes I knowTV commercials have already started running .

Florida v Mizzuruh was nearly two hours and forty five minutes. There were 47 fouls and 60 FT attempts. College basketball has been unwatchable for several years now and is in desperate need of an officiating and rules overhaul. When you have a sport that has 40 minutes of live action and games are running over two and a half hours, you have a problem.

This is why I will never do a nine pm game again. Usually start 15 minutes late . Two and a half hours it’s midnight . After drive home in bed about two am . Feel lousy next day .

Yeah, their goal is to muck the game up.

I assume we see a much better flowing game vs Bama.
