Halfway bought in after the presser. Was still leery on recruiting. Fully bought in after Jasper, Lewis, and Moreno all commited plus seeing us dismantle Duke, Bucknell, and Wright state. The dude is good so far. Still have to see what he does in tournament play. But so far, so great!


Also, Alvin Brooks and Jason Hart were killer hires. Pope outdid himself on those. Fueger is looking like a up and coming star as well.

Agree with the coach sentiment. I'm going to be a sad man when Hart leaves, and I think that'll be at the end of the season. For now, we've gotta enjoy having such a hot commodity.

he will go down as no less than the 3rd best coach to ever have the responsibility. No less. Even before the media and some were going for UCONN, Baylor, Alabama, whoever, I wanted and knew Pope was it. I have been with the program since Coach Rupp and Cotton Nash. Knew it was going to take one of us plus a genius at X’s andOs like Rupp &Pitino.
When I saw Adrian Smith on walker and Cliff Hagan being escorted by arm by daughter out to mid court at Midnight Madness I knew the right choice had been made.

I as so over Cal that I would have accepted anyone!! However the press conference sealed the deal to me that we had the right one, I'm so glad the other two turned us down and we got POPE!!!
