The first NBA player is moving forward with his intention to return to college basketball. Former UCLA player, Amari Bailey, plans to return next year. His case is now in the courts.

In an earlier thread, we joked about Rattler hypothetically returning to SC but now this could actually happen if Bailey wins his case. It would open the floodgates for professional players to return to college.

In a related matter, Sankey has come out against the return of the G league player, Charles Bediako, to Bama. Supporting the NCAA, Sankey filed an affidavit arguing that not upholding NCAA eligibility rules "fuels disruption" on the college sports landscape.

To my knowledge, this is the first stand the SEC hierarchy has made against professional players returning to college.

So, hypothetically, could Spencer (or anyone) come back to college, play for a year (or 10, given that apparently we're headed toward infinite eligibility), and then enter the draft and get drafted again? And then, after a year or two as a backup in the league, re-enter college yet again? :LOL: o_O o_O :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: This has the possibility of getting stupid.......wait; make that stupider!

Very true. Sooner or later, universities are going to be forced to form a cohesive governing system to regulate college sports. My sense is they are waiting to see how the courts rule on key issues before moving forward. I don’t see the NCAA in the picture, at least as we know it.

The NCAA has issued several contradictory rulings on this issue, so as far as the courts are concerned, since the NCAA has set precedent (or lack thereof) in these instances it would appear the courts will rule in favor of the plaintiffs.

What a horrible time it would be to be a HS recruit if this goes forward. The lower tier schools will be licking their chops at the players they will be able to get.
