So not that this is going to fix anything but shouldn't they all be playing for the 402? It's not one unit if they are all from a different zip code. Change it to the 402 or changed it to read Huskers.

I think it goes to the mentality of team work.

I am still being patient with this work in progress.

We need a blue collar work ethic. Spare me the necklaces, lunch pails etc... If you aren't pumped too play football, then you should walk away.

Huskers is still on the back. Let the kids show some pride from where there from. When they replace the N on the side with an area code then come cry about some individuality

I want one of those hats with the area code on the side.

Husker fans are everywhere. May as well have a way to show it. Can't think of a better way.

What's gonna happen when players get to have their picture on the side of their helmets (yes, Frost let the kids do that at UCF as well during a game)? Is that going to rile people up?

Let the kids take pride in where they came from and how they play.

531 is also a Lincoln area code now.

It's gimmicky. Just like Oregon's unis. None of it matters in winning. Did we have area codes under Osborne? No. We had HUSKERS and we're proud of it! So proud that Rathman took his to the NFL.

Guys, are we really complaining about the area codes on helmets? If Nebraska was 2-1 or 3-0, this wouldn't be discussed.

an arbitrary, government assigned prefix, that isn't really even relevant anymore.. but if it helps recruiting then that is a small price to pay for a kids commitment. right?

Or conversely, does this become a tool to shame a kid if he isn't playing to his potential.. now we gonna throw shade at an entire area code too? (sort of kidding)

It is irrelevant to the performance of the team. The only thing you should worry about is getting more area codes from hotbed recruiting country.

I doubt Frost, the staff or the players care what any of us think on a message board. It doesn’t help them win or lose and literally has nothing to do with performance. The team already voted for this in the off season and they decided to roll with it. Enough said, time to move on. Some of you guys are just looking for something else to complain about. They all have the N’s on the helmets, the Husker logos on the shirts, the N’s on the pants and all play for the Huskers...you can’t get more Husker pride then that.
