That's what I'd like to see happen. Ten is more realistic.
You people who are suddenly revisionists about John Calipari as a way of attacking Pope are delusional and pathetic.
Calipari flat out quit on Kentucky, once he got his lifetime contract, and wanted to blame the fan base -- all of us -- for the fact that he went 9-16, then lost to St. Peter's with NBA-caliber talent, then couldn't beat Jerome Tang with the National Player of the Year and an NBA guard, then decided NOT TO START two NBA lottery picks, and lost to a Horizon League team despite having about six guys drafted in the NBA and still playing there.
He screwed up Reed Sheppard's head to the point that a guy now averaging 14 ppg in the NBA looked worse than Jon Hood against some guy for Oakland who is probably a DoorDash driver today.
Calipari quit on Kentucky, and now that he wrecked our program he's putting in the effort again -- just to stick it to us and salve his own ego. That makes him a loser and a turd.
I'm not totally sold on Pope. One more year, and we'll know whether he needs to go. For that year, I might as well back him and wish him well, by way of being a faithful Kentucky fan.
But the Calipari nostalgia on this board is purely for masochists and wimps of the type who'd let someone cheat on them, steal their money, and then wish them well with a new guy.
