Just walked around Andy Kennedy after the game, wouldn't shake his hand and just shook his head like "I'm not shaking your hand" and then walked back to the line to shake players' hands after the game. That's got to be some of the worst sportsmanship I've seen from a head coach.

Bush League move by a very under-achieving coach.
I haven't cared for him since he and Nolan Richardson conspired to beat UK while he was at UAB.
Hopefully the SEC office fines him and/or Arkansas for that assjack move.

Yep ukfan693 that's it. He wouldn't look at him and walked around him and then back to the line. It was childish nonsense! I've always respected Mike AnsldAnderson but that doesn't help his image much in my mind.

Be a grown up, especially when you are in charge of young men. Some people jut don't have what it takes to be in charge.

@HImagazine: "Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy said that he and Mike Anderson did shake hands after Anderson finished conversation with somebody else."

They can spin it (coaches will do that), but Anderson deliberately went out of his way to not shake hands. What coach goes and has a "conversation". (Hint: none). Hell, at least Crean will give the coach a blow by

like another poster pointed out: Anderson is an a-hole, like his mentor Richardson, after that stunt in 2004. Both can rot.

Anderson is just like his crumby mentor, Nolan Richardson. How much success and achievement isn't good enough? There he is at 2.2 million + a year, University of Arkansas head coach, yet there's just something about this Andy Kennedy guy and so Anderson can't shake his hand. What could it be? What is it?

Could someone please educate me on how they conspired to beat UK? I'm not in the know on this one.

If memory serves me correctly, supposedly MA was invited to one of UK's practices and then went to NR and gave him the inside info on the practice and what UK would do.

Actually it was Nolan who was invited by Tubby to UK's practice before our 2nd round matchup with UAB in the 2004 NCAA tournament. Then, the cameras showed several times in the game Nolan behind the UAB bench yelling and instructing the UAB players on the floor where they needed to be in order to get lined up properly for the offensive set that Tubby just called from our bench. Then after the game was over, you see Nolan celebrating with Anderson and his staff.

And when the buzzer sounded Richardson shouted "Mighty Kentucky has fallen", with much glee. Anderson and Richardson can both rot in a Mexican jail as far as I'm concerned.

Was there an incident during the game itself that evoked this response? Or is it an old festering wound?

I couldn't agree more. As a coach, you have a greater responsibility to these young men other than just teaching them basketball. Use the game to teach life skills that will help these kids be successful in life after basketball.

I'm always very disappointed when I see coaches act like this.

Bush league and classless. Sour grapes cause' he got his little *** beaten at home. So much for the old adage "it doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how you play the game." Really fine example he sets for young men to emulate.

gets my vote for a**hole coach of the day award

I don't care what has happened , you shake hands at the end of the game say good game then move on. If you have the problem with the coach catch up with him the next day. Attitude reflects leadership.

What was Nolan Richardson doing at a UK practice before an important game, looks to me like Tubby let a spy in the door!

That's exactly what happened and it left a lot of people asking the same question after the game.

I'd love to know what the "thinking" was on that one? Tubby must've thought he was BFFs with Nolan?

That 2003-2004 team was one of my favorites, just a scrappy entertaining group of kids... and I was pissed for 2 weeks after that loss. I didn't necessarily think they'd go all the way... but they definitely should've been playing that next weekend.

The refs called it tight on UK in that one, including a horrible charge call when we were close to securing the victory... while letting UAB molest the Cats. I think UAB lost by 25 - 30 in their next game, since they weren't getting help from the refs.

Anderson acted like a petulant little punk, something he no doubt disciplines his players for should they act as unprofessional as he did in front of everybody. He had a good thing going at Missouri but has failed to achieve much at all in Arkansas. However, for UK's sake I hope he stays for as long as he wants. Arkansas could be a terrific program with a better coach.
